Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOur room was too warm and we couldn’t seem to turn down the heating. We didn’t however ask at reception and it certainly won’t prevent future visits.
Dog friendly, beautiful location. Nice check in with milk offered for the room. Lovely breakfast, plentiful parking and spacious rooms.

United KingdomI booked the inn from the photos on the website, as the rooms looked lovely and cosy, and I know it is subjective, but I was given a room with tiled floor, not carpet, which is ok if you’re in Spain or Greece, not a cosy English inn though. Also, there were no bedside lights, so the only light source was the main wall lights, which gave a very flat, drab light and made the room not a particularly welcoming place to be. Again, a bit subjective I know, but disappointing. You also only have the main light switch which is unreachable from the bed. So I would avoid the room “Langley”.
Staff are excellent, very friendly and hospitable, and a nice bar area. I was chatting to the Chef and took his recommendation of the cod cheeks - absolutely sublime, one of the nicest meals I have had for long time. The breakfast (smoked salmon and scrambled eggs), was also excellent,

United KingdomNot a big issue, but it was a shame that the 4-post bed was missing the top rails, the bed just looked incolplete and a bit broken. Also, I was very annoyed with the £20 additional charge for my dog, which I wasn't made aware of as I went through booking.com. However, the staff reduced this to £10. Thank you.
I liked the room and the extra treats - such as biscuits. Room was clean and welcoming. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Good breakfast, dog treats were a nice touch on the bar.

United KingdomPaying £20 for our dog for “room deep cleaning” we felt was a little steep. Normally we’d expect a dog treat pack in the room at least.
Wonderful location with long dog walks right out the back of the pub. The food was really good with plenty of choice, although quite expensive. We especially liked the offer of fresh milk to take up to the room for early morning coffee/tea, rather the than long life so that set the pub apart from others we’ve stayed at.

United KingdomThe room was close to the road,we like to have the window open, the traffic very noisy from six in the morning. however for people who are happy to sleep with the windows closed, the double double glazing would definitely be beneficial.
The breakfast was very good, dinner very good too. There was a good choice of menu. There was a great choice of tea/coffee in the room and the home made ginger biscuits were delicious!

I had a very friendly welcome when I arrived. I loved being given a flask of fresh milk for my room. My bag was carried up the stairs for me. My room was spacious, warm and well equipped. I love having an iron and ironing board when travelling for work. The fresh coffee, cafetiere and shortbread are all lovely touches. The products in the bathroom are great quality. The complimentary pillow spray is such a nice touch. I didn't need the earplugs as it is so quiet. The bed was really comfy too. The food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious and the staff were great. Attentive but not overbearing. I didn't have breakfast as was still full from the night before, so look forward to that next time. I loved the setting, the building, the abundant free parking and the great free wifi.

United KingdomThe breakfast was disappointing as we were not offered fresh fruit and yogurt. However the chef did get together a chopped apple and some yogurt for us. Apparently it is a company decision not to provide this. The lunch menu offered almost the same as the evening menu We ate in a local pub on our second night
Nice thatched pub in the countryside. Easy to park our car and just steps away to walk our dog. Nice ground floor room with excellent shower and a pleasant private patio. Lovely large fluffy towels and very clean.

United KingdomNo milk in the room as this was forgotten when being shown to the room. Staff at the bar overly pushed selling a specific wine because of a competition they're in to the point where it got a little too much.

United KingdomLighting in the room was awful. So dark. Also, the ceiling in the Roebuck room needs to be soundproofed!!! It was as if a herd of elephants were moving furniture around for a couple of hours. Thank goodness we'd taken ear plugs!!
Staff were very friendly. Decent sized room and bathroom, the latter actually had somewhere to put our toilet bags - often missing in other establishments.
