Fantastic couple of nights here. Couldn’t rate it highly enough. Oscar is a gem plus all the other staff. Don’t usually leave reviews but just had to share.

The location is great. We liked the way that Adnams has preserved some of the old features in a modern hotel. An old section of wall is preserved behind a glass window in room 3. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

The room was cold. No heating. I realise it is June, but the weather was quite cold. The first night I did not sleep well. 2nd night I put my coat on top of bed clothes to get more warmth and both nights I slept in some of my outdoor clothes!This was a big negative for me, unfortunately. I had a hot bath both mornings to get warm. Another small omission was the lack of an extra loo roll! I had to use some of that paper to dry my mugs as no drying up towel or other paper towels provided and this quickly used up the roll. Also, it would be a good idea to clean the TV remote! An interesting room with some original old beams. However, I hit my head several times, as I am quite tall (5’9’).

Wonderful location and my room had a sea view. A comfortable and pleasantly decorated and furnished room. Generous supply of toiletries. Lovely breakfast manager - attentive but not intrusive. She tried to match my vegan preferences with flexibility. An interesting and varied breakfast menu. The yogurt, berries and granola was delicious (not too sweet). As more people are now veggie or vegan, I would suggest more options - like oat milk etc, and vegan spread and yoghurt would be a good idea. The chef’s in-house home made focaccia was delicious. Thank you! Generous supply of tea and coffee facilities in room - which I greatly appreciated.

Friendly welcome, shown to my room up a narrow steep staircase. Upstairs landing had a coffee machine, and a tray with spare biscuits, teas, and milks. Double bedroom, comfortable bed, and lovely sea view. Ensuite shower/bathroom with toiletries. Clean and nicely furnished. Refreshments supplied. Asked if wanted dinner which booked. Breakfast came with the room rate and was delicious.

There isn’t anything not to like

Fab location almost on the sea front and easy walking distance from loads of things. Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Rooms were clean and beds were so so comfy. And then the food….. a young chef who makes his own bread and enjoys feeding people good food!

We were made very welcome from the start, all of the staff are very friendly and accomodating. We had a comfortable stay, a nice dinner (with some Adnams beer of course) and a lovely breakfast.

It was a great location, five minute walk away from beach, the staff were extremely helpful and lovely food. Clean room, good facilities and comfortable, there was privacy even though it is ontop of a pub, not to mention breakfast included which was a bonus!!

• The only negative would be the location of my (wrong) room. Unfortunately it was - seemingly - above the main entrance below. The door to which would close with a loud noise/bang each and every time someone arrived, or departed from the pub. Which I suppose would be an issue if you had an early start the next day, potentially. • That being said, I would definitely recommend the pub/hotel and hope to be back, in the right room :) *Although, it wasn’t until I checked out I realised I was in the wrong room. I wish they’d let me know, as I’d booked the Double room, but was checked into the Small Double??*

• From the moment I arrived the customer service I received was outstanding! I am terrible with names, however, it was a young man working on the 15/5 who checked me in. • The room itself was very nice. Spacious and sufficient wardrobe space too. Comfortable bed - I mean, really comfortable! • I had reserved a table for an early dinner at the pub, the atmosphere was very friendly throughout the evening. P.S. best scampi I’ve had in a long while! • Going back to customer service and staff, they were all brilliant. Even post shift, and those on their day off. • Breakfast and the service received the following morning (16/5) were again outstanding! • I would recommend The Cross Keys.

Nothing to complain about. The gulls are noisy in the morning but not a lot the property can do about them!

Not a big issue but there was a bit of a "bump" sound whenever the night front door to the rooms was slammed - since there are only 3 rooms it only happened very occasionally.

Welcoming staff. Location very central, convenient and quiet. Had character, superb breakfast with locally sourced ingredients. Decent sized room and ensuite. Good shower (not softened water!). Comfy bed. There was a fan in the room for hot weather and I imagine the radiator would suffice in winter.
