Lovely facilities and great hosts. Terence and Piper seem to have thought of everything to make your stay special. I loved this place and would definitely want to visit again. Clean and comfortable. Great breakfasts. Would highly recommend.

The welcome and attention to detail offered by Piper and Terrance is exceptional. The Devonian is possibly the best value for money accommodation we have stayed at and is highly recommended. Of particular note were the breakfast, Terrance's advice about local highlights and Pipers magical drawing-room.

The parking is tricky, but this is literally the only thing that wasn't above and beyond perfect.

I honestly can't give this a higher score. Outstanding in every way. Beds, cleanliness, hosts, grounds, breakfast. These guys go above and beyond any other place I've ever stayed in the UK. I cannot wait to go back, ASAP. Just fabulous 🥰

We really appreciated the varied breakfast menu on offer. We also loved the interior vintage decor. Piper and Terence were very helpful and friendly which made the stay happy and memorable. We would definitely recommend the Devonian.

It was such a pleasure, staying in the beautiful house of Piper and Terence. I would give 20 points, if I could. They are the perfect hosts, hearty and welcoming, and they go twenty extra miles to make you feel extra comfortable. Including tipps for interesting excursions or the best pubs, printed little maps for coastal walks, dried clothes overnight, help with parking your car and much more. I liked the interior as well a lot, every room has a different style, the bed is comfy, the view out of the window at the garden and the green valley is beautiful. There is a small sauna, a fitness room, a reading room and a tiny cinema. A fab outdoor terrace and a magic and huge garden with small paths. It’s very close to the coastal path and a 10-minute-walk into the city. Almost forgot, breakfast is of course delicious. Thanks a lot, Piper and Terence!

Although a short distance away from the sea front it was better for this having a nicer view of the valley and quieter. The breakfasts were superb with a great choice and freshly made. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming if they tried and l have never said this in my life but l feel they do not charge enough for what they offer.

We loved everything from start to finish. It exceeded our expectations. The decor of the hotel was very stylish and immaculately clean. Our room was as described, quiet, comfortable and warm. The breakfast was delicious, and the small touches like being greeted by our names and friendliness - it was well organised and worked very well.
