Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The room was lovely and really clean and the extras in the room were really welcoming. Location was also great. Close to the main road but no traffic noise in the room.

Unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable for us , we had use of two showers as it was a family room but both showers were very poor and hardly a trickle coming out . It was also very noisy if some else in another room was running water . The room was extremely hot and the weather wasn’t great about 16oc lucky there was a fan in the room which made it just bearable. When we had the evening meal the staff then started setting g up all the breakfast facilities on the side so we felt rushed to get out ! I think for the price of £180 it was very over priced due to the comfort and the noise in the room .

The bar and restaurant area was lovely along with the staff all very welcoming and friendly . I loved that dogs can go and stay as well . The decor was lovely . Lovely Touch of there own brew in the room . Food was lovely evening meal and breakfast .

The floor boards above were very squeaky. Woke me up at 6am. It’s just part of an old building’s “charm”. Certain staff members were EXTREMELY loud. Not just yelling to each other across the room but just in general discussion. Unnecessary.

Great staff, great location, amazing food, beautiful room.

Wow, this place is super. The bar and restaurant are classy yet relaxed, and the four poster bed room we had was an absolute joy! Nice touch to have Bramble products to use.

There is nothing not to like. It’s perfect.

Everything about the Devenshire is lovely. The location. The proximity to other public houses, chatsworth, scenery etc. it’s just a gorgeous little experience. The value for money is great. Breakfast was 10/10 and the service and feel is just lovely. Cannot recommend this little place (or baslow) enough.

Our particular room was very tacky, decor wise, with sparkly scatter cushions, a velour headboard, mirror furniture, hideous wallpaper and purple paint etc, which was quite chipped and scruffy in the bathroom. The mattress was very saggy, but fortunately we slept well versus rolling into each other. The wifi was non-existent, so it was fortunate that neither of us had to jump on any work. There were very limited options on the breakfast buffer e.g. no fruit (!), although the cooked element was very good.

This was recommended as a base to stay for one night whilst we were visiting the Peak District. The staff were charming, the position of the inn was perfect for just walking straight into the Chatsworth Estate and I am also sure there were other great walks. There were complimentary bottles of home brewed beer in the room and a plentiful supply of lovely Bramley toiletries. It was also very quiet, considering it's an inn and it was only set back a little from a fairly busy road, although we were there on a Sunday night.

woke up shortly after midnight feeling unwell, and was sick - I suspect an element of food poisoning. Guest car alarm went off twice in the night, so was unsure as to whether there was a security issue outside or just a car with a very sensitive alarm system

Good quality toiletries, complimentary beer in room.
