We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The online pictures don’t really reflect the reality of the rooms. My room was rather tired and in need of refurbishment - one of the window latches was missing a catch so couldn’t be opened without swinging and banging against the wall, and the other had a rotting window frame so couldn’t be safely opened at all. They were also very draughty - curtains were waving in the breeze when closed. There was no bin in the bathroom for sanitary items, which could be an issue for some guests. The bathroom was generally clean but had several patches of mould around the bath.
The food was excellent - really good evening meal and breakfast. I would have liked more variety at breakfast, not just the cooked option (I usually have fruit and yogurt). Lots of supplies for making tea and coffee.

please see above - as I put everything in there
Room - we requested a twin but were given a double, only a view of the roof unfortunately, this was noticed the next morning but not worth moving rooms. Lighting in room needs a mirror light for make up, etc. the shower tiles could be cleaned and the bottom of the shower doors. The radiator is too near the toilet as you could burn your arm on it - too hot. It needs a bedside shelf on the left of the bed. Breakfast - nice. I did think the drinks were a bit expensive £7+ for a 175ml of the cheapest wine. Dinner - was ample and tasty. Overall it is a very nice place and the staff were nice. I only mention the pointers above to assist them going forward.

Bed a little bit hard.

Was nice and clean, good size, but the room was advertised as a double, but it was 2 singles pushed together, as you all know gap in middle made it uncomfortable but other than that nice place to save, very quiet, bar breakfast all good 👍

Ideal location for what we needed, for a one night stay to meet up with other family members, living nearby. Comfortable bedroom, a little dated, but perfectly adequate for our needs. Had a meal on the evening and breakfast the following day, all very nice. Lovely friendly staff.

The room was a bit dated and the bathroom needs an upgrade. Coffee at breakfast was instant sachets which was disappointing.
We liked the location. The restaurant food was very nice. Staff were pleasant.

My only criticism would be that the decor was a little tired, and some minor things eg window furniture, bathroom fittings, need attention.
Staff were exceptionally welcoming, and helpful as soon as I arrived. The place itself was lovely, with plenty of parking. My room was very clean and well equipped.

We didn’t realise the breakfast which used to always be included is no longer included and there were no options to select when breakfast when we originally booked. The extra charge was too much for us unfortunately this time so ended up driving to McDonald’s.
I’ve always loved coming to this hotel, it’s comfortable, the staff are very friendly and very close to where we needed to be during our stay here, very convenient.

Nothing to put me off staying again
Location for work was excellent only 3 miles from the Shuttleworth collection. Room was warm, bed comfortable, pud with food next door.
