Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing major - room decor was a little dark for my taste and, because of the proximity of the A4, it was a little noisy at times.
Food was universally good to excellent. Good menu - plenty of choice for all tastes. Room was comfortable and well appointed, Staff were great - friendly and efficient. Lovely touch to be given fresh milk on arrival (and every morning throughout my stay).

United KingdomThe staff were polite, friendly and extremely helpful. Food was excellent and the accommodation rustic style but very modern with under floor heating and an excellent wet room shower. Fantastic location as we were using the A34, a great stay and would definitely use again.

United KingdomThe only thing we was slightly disappointed with not being able to check in earlier but our fault for arriving to early. We was welcomed to wait in the restaurant. Could hear slight road noise but only with windows open and we was the closest to the road
Absolutely beautiful, more than just a room. Beautifully decorated, in beautiful surroundings. Every moment was a wow. We was in a dog friendly room as we took our boy, who was more than happy to find treats awaiting in our lodge. Excellent breakfast and very professional service. Fresh products and we could taste they was locally sourced and great value for money overall Lots of little extra touches that made our stay luxurious. We will definately be back

CanadaJust a heads up, we had a very warm two days and decided to take a cab from the train station to the Inn. Cabs are parked right outside. It would have been a bit of a walk otherwise, although there are sidewalks and it is certainly do-able. Lots of parking onsite if you are driving though. Advantage of taking the cab was we arranged for the same driver to take us to Highclere and pick us up again the next day.
Our room was number 14 (The Hackney). No expense has been spared in decorating and comfort. As is typical for Europe, the room was not exceptionally large but it was luxuriously appointed and extremely comfortable. A welcome drink and nice tea and coffee service, bottled still and sparkling water all awaited us. Fresh milk and more bottled water awaited me before 6 am for my morning tea. Very comfortable bed and new, modern bathroom. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food, wine and service were just wonderful. Kyle and Elliott are assets to the property. We did not have a drink in the bar but it is beautiful. We had a delicious breakfast (included) the next morning - buffet and a la carte both available. The hotel kept our bags for no charge when we checked in early and went for a walk along the canal, and also while we visited Highclere Castle the next day, which was much appreciated. Front desk staff on check-in and check-out were lovely. We absolutely would stay here again and highly recommend.

United KingdomThe property was very characterful, in excellent decorative order and stylishly presented. The room we were placed in to begin with was rather hot but the staff were very happy to move us to another, cooler one, which we were very comfortable in.

TurkeyFirst of all, it is the second time I have stayed at the hotel. The staff, the breakfast, the room, the location, dinner...whatever you choose the answer will be excellent.Spotless clean. Perfectly refurbished. I can go there just to stay one night to live the experience again. The staff from the reception to the kitchen are very friendly, and very well trained, and they all have great personalities that create a big difference. I can't thank them enough to show my appreciation. Especially to Max and Andrea. I would definitely go back with pleasure. It is a "must-see and stay" hotel.

United KingdomNo cleaning of room. So didn’t get fresh tea or coffee and clean towels. ? No milk sachet. Fresh milk only offered but no fridge in room so it went off quickly, think both options should be offered. Wine prices were a bit high ? And don’t agree with paying extra for eggs Benedict £5 when full English is included. Something wrong?
Lovely atmosphere, great bar and restaurant.
