Staff were welcoming from the moment we arrived. Excellent location to walk into Windemere. Our room was small, but comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. Breakfast each morning was great, plenty of choice and staff were open to any particular requests. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family as an ideal base to explore Windermere.

Exceptional b&b, our room was bright and airy and overlooked the garden. There was an excellent choice at breakfast with the added bonus of homemade cake every day to take away. The location in a quiet lane with no through traffic, but only a few minutes stroll into the town. I would thoroughly recommend The Hideaway.

Lovely, lovely place! From start to finish an exceptional experience. The staff are amazing the room was fantastic, the breakfast was excellent and the homemade cakes were delicious 😋. I cannot fault the whole stay at all!!! Would definitely recommend absolutely outstanding 🤩🤩

Hard to think of anything

Really friendly and accommodating staff. Home from home without being intrusive. Excellent breakfast: choice, quality and quantity. Loved the extra touches like the homemade cake every day. Very comfortable bed. Quiet and peaceful. Great location (as long as you don't mind it being a bit hilly, after all it is the Lake District!) Less than 10 mins walk from railway station. Less than 5 minutes from bus stop but away from the noisy traffic

What can we say? The hideaway is a lovely place set in a quiet location. We stayed for 2 nights our room was fabulously clean and comfortable. Fantastic hospitality, kind. friendly staff. The breakfast was amazing, you also get delicious homemade free cake every day, which is kind and generous.. Richard and his team were wonderful and made our stay perfect. Lisa and the team were really friendly and very helpful throughout our stay, we received delicious cakes upon our arrival, the property itself was full of charm and character inside and out, situated in a secluded area of Windermere with a short walk into the town. The breakfast was outstanding and the waitress was attentive throughout. We can’t wait to stay at The Hideaway again.
