the shower was very mouldy in the grout lines and the lighting was hit and miss in room 2, with one of the lights intermittently flickering. rain coming down the chimney and dripping onto a wooden board holding a light was rather annoying through the night. it is obvious that this pub is having renovation works done currently and I would love to stay again when this is all completed.

location was ideal and friendly polite helpful staff. breakfast was tasty.

The room was very comfortable. Although no one was there to serve me breakfast on my first morning of my stay the owner did find me in the evening to apologise and offer a free evening meal. Service and meal were excellent.

Brilliant place to stay if you want to go to alton towers. Cozy little place that's quite good value for money. Breakfast in the morning was also lovely.

No complaints everything was as expected for the price

Simplicity at its best, we needed a place to stay overnight for 2 days at alton towers, just a short 20 minute drive away this was perfect. Clean rooms and hassle free late check in (gone 10pm) couldn't of asked for anymore, skipped breakfast as we woke late for our second day at the park but I'm sure it would of been great.

Some of the decor is dated and/or tired.

The staff and other customers were warm and welcoming. The staff were accommodating, helpful and the breakfast was lovely. The location was perfect for Alton Towers and for our onward journey to North Wales. Cheadle is a pretty country town with lots to offer.

The traffic on the passing road.

The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. The location for alton towers was perfect and travelling there in the morning missed the main traffic coming from the South.

Road noise! Not enough choice for evening meal. Bed too low (personal thing - husband has a bad back!). Property undergoing renovations and lots of jobs unfinished

There was a lovely warm welcome from the staff and they went overboard trying to help us. Locals are very friendly too. Plenty of room to park. Breakfast was good.

A fair amount of noise from adjoining rooms and downstairs but it’s a busy pub so should be expected and it didn’t trouble us at all.

Landlord was miserable and only pizzas on the menu we weren’t told chef had left we would have eaten elsewhere ended up just having a plate of chips for our evening meal .

There were a couple of hairs in the shower when we arrived but everywhere else seemed clean. The bin in the bathroom was very rusty and needs replacing. The pictures hanging up in the bathroom looked like they had mould on them or had been there for over a decade. The place is quite dated, i think replacing some old stuff like those mentioned above with new items would make a big difference.

The staff were attentive and friendly. The breakfast was good value for money. The bed was comfortable. The pizzas in the barn were decent and the garden was a nice place to spend the eve.
