Was old and quirky, really lovely, it was very hot and we were on a main road so too noisy to open windows, would have been perfect with a fan, and couple of pillows were lumpy but plenty of them. What a pleasant find 🤩 Great location to Alton Towers and near to local amenities. Lounge 101 was so picturesque and the food unbelievable (in a good way) Staff are very friendly and chatty.

If I was to make a fews constructive criticisms it would be that a couple of odd jobs of extra cleanliness could be made to give that extra satisfaction for your customers - for example; the cutlery to be polished as it looked a tad grubby and the same for the wine/Prosecco glasses they looked cloudy & water marked. In the room the shower grout needs replacing/deep cleaned of the black meldrew/mould. The centre court yard/walk through needs emptying of all the junk left there, it was concerning on the eye and could attract pests. Despite these odd changes that need to be updated, we would definitely stay again. Perfect location & most staff were very helpful and kind.

We throughly enjoyed our stay thank you. The rooms were nice and clean and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and so were the pizzas on the evening we stayed.

bed was rubbish breakfast was terrible the whole place was dusty and dirty, the reviews looked good but was very disappointing when i arrived to see what we had booked i would never recement this place to anyone not even an enemy carpets were filthy and the bathroom was mouldy ever time a van or lorry drove past it shock the bed very very disappointing

The shower cubicle had a lot of black mould. The bathroom had thick dust on the toilet roll holder and generally felt grubby. The whole place felt extremely tired/run down. Beds had seen better days.

Great location for Alton Towers. The pizzas were delicious! Staff were friendly. The bed linen smelt great!

Tired looking bedroom and bathroom. Shower cubicle lots of black mould. Frayed towel, clean bed linen but torn. Only serve pizza and sides. Basic for the price. Needs more attention to detail to get basics right. Finish looked shabby.

Lovely old fashioned pub that had real character. Really pretty from the outside too, all lit up. Bedrooms were amazing, very clean and the bedding smelt lovely. The bed was very comfy too and the breakfast was amazing! Loved everything about our stay, would definitely recommend.

Where to begin.. the shower was disgusting, black mould everywhere, zero water pressure, dirty light switches. The mattress must have never been replaced, one of the worst I have ever slept in, barely had any sleep it was so uncomfortable and woke up with back pain. Rooms were above the bar where we could hear every word from below which got louder and louder the more people drank, not ideal with a 4 year old trying to sleep but is what it is. There was no greeting when we arrived, just 2 young people behind the bar that didn't really seem interested in talking. Stuff lying around everywhere, rooms just full of junk, stuff all on the stairs up to rooms, just all round messy and seems like the staying guests are a real after thought. Didn't once see the nice dining area shown on the pictures, breakfast was served in the pub which is fine if they cleared up a bit but just felt like we were an inconvenience more than anything. Latte was made from a powdered sachet. Shame as the pictures made it all look great, but it's very run down, dirty, tatty and messy.

Breakfast was good although it was in the pub which was a bit run down, didn't see the nice dining area shown in any of the pictures.

We arrived late on a Wednesday evening after a long journey and we were welcomed by the staff, asked if we would like some food, and told that they had a wonderful open fire in the lodge and they would come to take our order in a few minutes. When we ordered and the food arrived, it was delicious, and sitting by the fire with our dog in the warmth was heaven.
