Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Very nice and polite reception. Dinner in the pub tasted excellent - kudos to the kitchen. The room was in the annexe and was very quiet. Excellent breakfast, every wish was catered for. Very friendly staff. The Jolly Huntsman is in an excellent location for exploring the Cotswolds. If we come to this area again we will stay at the Jolly Huntsman again.

United KingdomOnly thing that really let it down was the state of the shower in our room which had a lot of mould and mildew on most of the grouting and the flexible shower hose, this could have been easily cleaned with a mould and mildew cleaner and a good stiff brush.
Location was good in nice small quiet village, homely atmosphere in bar and food very reasonably priced. Would stay there again

United KingdomThe only minor issue was that most of the power sockets were behind wardrobes & cupboards so plugging the kettle in & using the hair dryer meant we had to be creative!
The full english cooked breakfast was superb. My wife & I's evening meal was great especially as we didn't arrive until 8.30pm & hadn't booked. The room was everything you need for an overnight stay, especially the shower which in some locations isn't always very good. The quality of customer service from the man in charge (not the couple who own it who were on holiday) was brilliant. I apologise for forgetting his name. He couldn't do enough for us. Thanks.

United KingdomWe felt that the bedroom was very chilly...rather spartan. The bathroom tile grouting was quite dirty and window shelf in the bathroom was very dusty. The bed linen was very good though.
We thought the restaurant was exceptional, a wide variety of food at a reasonable cost. The staff were excellent, service quick and friendly. Gregory was very helpful.

United KingdomThe ensuite bathroom we had had a few dead flies and cobwebs, and the towels had a slight damp smell to them.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to help us secure transport to the wedding we were going to in the area. The breakfasts were also delicious and a lot of care / skill went into it

Abkhazia, GeorgiaThe bedroom although large clean and equipped with the usual tea coffee, however the table on which these sat had no plug for the kettle. In fact there were no sockets appropriate to use to make a hot drink without moving the one of the two single beds or plugging it behind the small bedside cabinet. Rearranging the bedroom furniture or making more sockets available would be the answer. The en-suite was large and clean. There was only a bath available (had a shower attachment but no hook on the wall to take a shower except kneeling down in the bath and awkwardly holding the shower head to limit the amount of water splashing onto the floor. The temperature when I stayed was very hot and the room retained a lot of the heat during the night. There was no air con (which is fine) but I could have done with an electric fan to help cool the room and make sleeping easier. Having said this I would struggle to find a socket to plug it into. The result was trying to sleep in a very hot bedroom. With all these comments I felt I couldn’t approach the staff so didn’t say anything at the time. But this pub in is a lovely place that could be made so much better with addressing these simple changes as mentioned.
The staff were excellent, polite and friendly. Top marks in this section. The restaurant food was lovely, good wholesome pub grub. The breakfast was good (full cooked breakfast with cereals etc). However the only thing letting this down was the cooked breakfast was swimming in oil otherwise good breakfast. The bedroom was large equipped with a double and 2 singles. The room was clean and had towels and tea / coffee available. The room was quiet at night and I wasn’t disturbed.

GermanyThe only complaint is that we would have liked a top sheet and light blanket instead of the typical thick comforter which was too hot on, and too cold off, making sleeping restless.
We loved staying at the Jolly Huntsman. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant/ pub served delicious homemade food. Breakfast was typical English breakfast of eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, ham, sausage, hash browns, toast, tea and coffee. The location was quiet and safe on the Main Street of a small village.
