Our impression was that the hotel was under new ownership and, to an extent, the hotel was a work in progress e.g. some of the fixtures and fittings were in need of updating. If the necessary work is carried out, this hotel could be transformed into a characterful and stylish venue. The downside - prices would probably increase to reflect the upgrade!

The continental breakfast was excellent with a very wide range of good quality ingredients. (Normally we like a 'full English' but didn't feel let down by what was on offer).

There isn't a lot around the area, but the hosts are working on building a hub with great plans for a food an social venue. However it is only a very short drive to ammenitied or to Bristol.

The building is full of character and charm and a very strong sense of history. A totally different experience to the cookie cutter hotel chains. We'll considered breakfast, very personable host and clean warm rooms.

Only thing- bathroom really needed a mirror. My daughter had a gym comp and found it tricky using the mirror in the room with no light .

We had to leave at 7 on Sunday and were so pleased with the breakfast that was left out for us to access. All self service and my daughter was happy to have her usual yoghurt and fruit.

Check in wad a bit disconcerting. Work to update is in progress, and the attached pub has closed ( part of the refurbishment). Once past that, the staff were very welcoming, rooms comfortable, with a buffet continental breakfast.

The breakfast was fine, a lot to choose from but disappointed not to have the service of a cooked breakfast as before. I love the fact it is an old building but look forward to seeing it refurbished. Missed not having a drink befor going to our room.The room was comfortable but very tired, need to be redecorated.

Nothing really, if I had to be really critical the building was old so the floors were creaky so if creaky floor noise bothers you it may not be for you.

Very cute property in a location that was convenient for our needs. Very nice breakfast, mainly cold options but lots of variety and an exciting egg cooking contraption that was fun to use and cooked a perfect soft boiled egg. Room was a good size and it was warm and the bed was comfortable. It was a family room and the child bed was in a cute little nook so it was there but felt a bit private for our teenager.

Bed moved whenever my partner turned over

We really loved the beams and stone wall in the room. The bathroom was very modern and clean and the room was very spacious. The continental breakfast was very nice too. There is nobody onsite though so you need to message for checkin. Checking out is simple, just drop keys in box by the door. It was a perfect location for visiting our daughter and we will definitely stay here next time.

Nothing to complain about. Cups in the room was a bit small but other than that we really enjoyed.
