Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomMaybe a small TV in the room would be good. There is a really cosy lounge to watch TV but it can be awkward if there's a few people wanting to watch different channels.
The setting was beautiful; so peaceful and tucked out of the way but close to Keswick and all its amenities. The staff were so helpful and the food was outstanding. I would highly rate the Langstrath and will definitely return.

United KingdomA little more choice on the menu for vegetarians would be appreciated.
There can't be a more peaceful location than this Inn, at the end of a single track lane, beautiful surroundings, no through traffic, nice little bar and clean comfortable rooms. The food is good though a little pricey. Staff couldn't be more helpful.

United KingdomNothing really. A super place to stay.
A lovely country pub at the end of the road deep in the Lake District countryside. Modern rooms with great views of the hillside. Fabulous staff, always smiling and willing to help. Good food and drinks and a convivial atmosphere. Caters equally well for muddy walkers and smart holidaymakers. Hard to find fault and will be heading there again when we get the chance.

United KingdomSeemed understaffed , room was cold, had to ask to have the heating put on , was no TV or radio in the room, no phone reception and WiFi worked sporadically if at all, very noisy outside at night time , large gap under room door which I assume was a fire door. Staff on arriving not particularly friendly, though the woman serving breakfast was very pleasant. All in all not a wonderfully stay
Location was picturesque , drying cupboard for wet clothes was nice. Breakfast was ok.

United KingdomThe water from the taps was brown and there were no shops nearby to easily get drinking water from. Bathroom was a little bit mouldy, but overall it was clean and comfortable.
Ideal location for walking. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the dry room was our saving grace after a rainy day. Beds were comfy. Ideal for our walking weekend.

United KingdomThe rooms didn't get tidied up every morning as you'd expect from other hotels, but this could be unreasonable expectations from people who are used to this.
Location was great as we were there to hike Sacffle Pike, and not too far (about 15mins drive) from the nearest town which was Keswick. It is a little bit secluded away from any shops/eateries so you'll have to have a car or use the bus which was quite frequent. The hotel also has a pub which had a great atmosphere

United KingdomWi-Fi was unusable. The water in our room cut off a couple of times (we were told too many people were using it all at once). We told the hotel in advance that we required Vegan breakfasts. This was accommodated but only combining elements of different breakfast options on the day. No plant-based milk, butter or yoghurt alternatives were offered so we couldn't have the cereals.
Fantastic location. Very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms were comfortable and the whole place was better than we expected for an 'Inn' in the middle of nowhere. The restaurant menu always offered at least two vegan options and we were offered vegan packed lunches (although you have to check the ingredients)
