Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere was a lot of noise from the pub below until around 1am. There were used coffee pods in our room which were a little mouldy. (We were offered coffee from the bar when we mentioned this.)
The room was lovely, very comfortable, and the staff were helpful.

United KingdomThe access to the rooms are not great as you have to go up quite a few steps and down the lane to get to your room. It was ok for us as we are quite young still but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone a bit older. The meal I had wasn't very good I had to send it back as the chicken was hard. We weren't very happy as it was our anniversary meal, my husbands meal was good but sadly he had almost eaten his before I got my replacement meal. The staff were nice but all seemed a bit stressed out. When we went back to our room there was quite a lot of noise outside and downstairs coming from the pub below, this was after 12 aswell but it did all go quiet after a while. The parking is quite limited also. We probably wouldn't stay here again sadly based on these things.
The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The location was good, although not a lot to do in Polruan but if you want a quiet time away it's ideal.

GreeceThe room was very small with nowhere to sit and the pub was closed during normal hours so.no lounge area to.relax out of hours. I think £15 fot breakfast is a rip.off if you normally just want something light like toast or muesli. . .
The location.

United KingdomThe room was not cleaned on a daily basis, it was only cleaned 3 times during a 7 night stay. I was told they didn't have a cleaner, however the rooms that had to be cleaned ready for the next guests were done!
The breakfast was an additional cost so we didn't have it.

United KingdomWarm welcome on arrival, although the lady at the bar made us wait while she dealt with a delivery note before she deigned to book us in and show us to our room. We also heard her answering other guests enquiries about ferry times 'I've only just moved here myself, so I haven't got a bl**dy clue'. After being shown to our room, we returned to the bar via the upstairs stairway which we were shown and were literally 'barked' at Basil Fawlty style by the barman -'Are you guests?' - Well actually yes we are - we are coming down from the upstairs bedrooms which should have given him a clue. This was answered by an aggressive 'Well, haven't you been told about the other access to the bar?' Actually no, and you have put an unwelcoming dampener on our evening. In the morning, the same staff member busied himself with jobs around the pub (like lighting candles) whilst we sat waiting at our table and we had to ask if it was at all possible to get a coffee and a view of the breakfast menu. He seemed to have no idea that we might want breakfast and no idea if breakfast was included in the price - he told us it was - then came back and informed us it wasn't. He appeared extremely overworked and although I empathised with him as he appeared to be doing everything, his abrupt manner because he was stressed really didn't make our stay here relaxing.
The room was very clean and comfortable. The location lovely. The evening meal very good.

United KingdomFrom 11 pm, when the many bar notices said it closed, the staff and manager and a few locals stayed up until 115am shouting and singing and stomping about in the bar below. In and out to smoke shouting in the streets singing nonsense.
The room was gorgeous, well decorated clean and modern. The staff were polite and helpful during business hours.
