Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe property was perfect. Only downside was it was hard to get taxis in to Axminster but that can’t be helped!
A lovely, cute a quirky accommodation with all the facilities we needed plus some thoughtful extra touches. Sarah was friendly and helpful and we loved admiring the views and watching the animals and workings of the farm.

United KingdomQuite an early checkout time. If you're tall (6ft 2 +) you might struggle to fit in the bed too. Although very much appreciated that there's nothing to be done about this as the bed is as long as the hut will allow.
Lovely hut, finished to a very high standard. Beautiful location. Great spot for a trip to the countryside. Host was very kind and had some great suggestions for us. Thanks!

United KingdomShops and pubs are a car ride away which helps with the experience of peace and quiet. However it does mean you need to self cater unless youre happy to get in the car. In the summer there's a barbecue and plenty of space to cook and eat outdoors. However in the autumn and winter it's worth preparing/taking some food that is easy to reheat as there isn't really room to cook from scratch unless you are super organised.
A little tricky to find but well worth the effort. A really luxurious glamping experience in a peaceful location. Hosts were super welcoming and made alot of effort to look after me.

There was no breakfast. The hut looked beautiful and was kitted out with everything you could think of for a comfortable stay. The location in a field a short distance from the farmhouse allows for peace and privacy without feeling isolated.

GuernseyIt was difficult to find - Sat Nav lead me astray. What 3 words is pacifist.cookery.trumpet. Felt ever so slightly disappointed that I didn't get any scones as others said, although Sarah had left some biscuits as a consolation.
Super spot, very cosy hut and well equipped. Perfect for my short stay. Comfortable bed, but be careful climbing up - easy to miss footing.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't like, we couldn't fault any of it! Guest's my wonder where the stop cock is for the water supply but I wouldn't worry the water come from a spring and you just have to let the pump kick in to get the pressure up, and you don't like fresh spring water Sarah supplies bottled water for drinking.
What's not like, Sarah and her Husband are such a lovely couple, and the location was a dream come true! The shepherds hut is in a small paddock on their farm in Membury, we were greeted by Sarah's Eight Swiss sheep and later by a litter of two month old collie pups and their dad (and of course Sarah ). We loved the country side ,the piece and quite and the tranquillity so much we stayed an extra night and would of stayed longer if we could. The farm is with in easy reach of Axminster and there are plenty of other places to visit in the both the country side and seaside towns and villages of Devon, Dorset and Somerset. Sarah has put so much love and attention to detail in to the shepherds hut and she also has a yurt and a cottage for holiday stays that we are hoping to stay at in the near future We will definitely be going back. THANK SARAH FOR A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY.

United KingdomIf your tall the bed is too short. (I’m not tall so was fine) WiFi would have been nice. No nearby shops so take supplies there. Fridge inside would have been good. (Many trips round corner to fridge outside could get snoozing if there for a while.)
Great location, private and secure. Great little set up. Lots of little touches that added value.

United KingdomMy partner is quite tall and the space/bed too short/narrow for him so not amazingly comfy. This was the one and only drawback, otherwise amazing!
The hut is beautiful inside and out and although it's pretty tiny it really offers everything you need. It felt magically cozy. We also felt we had complete privacy there, nothing around us other than sheep. We arrived after a retreat to relax before going back to life and it was the perfect spot.
