Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe arrived back after a wedding at 23.50, the bar was quite full with drinking after hours. As our room was above the bar, it was very noisy for another hour. Also, the green light in the bedroom made the room very light and difficult to sleep
A lovely room, comfortable bed and friendly staff

United KingdomShame unable to get food but had takeaway instead. Room was lovely, very large. Our cat enjoyed her stay. We bought her travel crate with us for her to stay in. No staff around when we checked out. We feel there should have been someone around to check if all ok. Would recommend to anyone with a pet to stay here.
No breakfast available as no kitchen working

South AfricaI thought I paid online before I got there on booking.com but that was not the case. Had to pay when I got there. Pillow was not comfortable. There was a green light on in my room that was on that I didn't know where to switch it off. Not sure what that was for.
There was alot of space. Nice and cozy bar downstairs. The view was beautifull.

United KingdomIt's a shame they don't offer food/breakfast. We did know this when we booked. The brewery and the Sun Inn pub are both nearby and offer food options.
Beautiful historical pub, within a couple of minutes walk of the Hook Norton brewery.

United KingdomIt was very noisy, being an Inn with rooms directly above meant for quite some noise until half 11 each night. There also was no dedicated parking for paying guests, I had to wrap up work early to secure a spot on the off road parking before other inn guests arrived. An ideal stay for holiday goers, not an ideal stay for business trips.
It was extremely clean. Loved the historic original beams and general cotswold vibe of the place. The surrounding area was just scenic and lovely. The hygiene/shower supplies were on top form. The staff were extremely welcoming and lovely.

United KingdomPerhaps some hooks or towel ring in the bathroom and a little table in the main bedroom might be helpful if you’re staying more than one night but those are small issues.
Great family room for me and a friend plus our dogs. Super beds and friendly staff. Locals really helpful too.

IrelandThe electric shower wasn't very easy to use they rarely are, I know, but freezing or too hot and not alot of water pressure.
Situated in a stunning village in the Cotswolds. Floral gardens, stone houses with thatched rooves and so quiet with so much nature in and around the village. WOW i loved it soo relaxing. The Inn is a beautiful old building very clean and comfortable with a lovely friendly atmosphere. Modern conveniences available and plenty of tea and coffee and a complimentary bottle of local brewery Hooky Ale I taught was a nice touch. I enjoyed the Ale too. Wished i could stay longer.

United KingdomThe fact no food at all. And the fact our bedroom was above the cellar a lot of noise on a night from the cooler and from the lager pump clicking.
It’s so near to The Hook Norton brewery. In fact think it is the Brewery pub. Big bedroom. Nice comfy big bed. Tv was a bit of a pain to control. Remote had a mind of its own. There is definitely no breakfast included in this pub. And definitely no vouchers which booking. Com tells you. If you want food you have to go to the brewery for breakfast and pay full prices. Also no food on a night or at all in fact. So either have to go somewhere else on a night for food. The bar is smallish and a very locals bar.

United KingdomNo breakfast but Hook Norton Brewery offer a discount for breakfasts in their restaurant if touring the brewery. No evening meals, but these are available at the other pub in the village a short walk away. They are honest in so far as he walls are thin so noise from the bar does filter up to the room.

United KingdomWe didn’t dislike anything. However a mirror near a plug for hair drying, a box of tissues and hooks in the bathroom for towels, would have been appreciated. Very steep stairs up to the rooms, it was fine for us, but not suitable for some people.
We booked two rooms. Outstanding cleanliness, linens and towels new and fresh. New carpets too. Lovely newly painted decor. Bathrooms were new too.
