Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainCheck in is a bit hard and the people in the desk arent that helpful from the start. They dont just directly hand out bed sheets and towels, you have to come back down and ask for them. They don´t tell you which is your bed, and once you are in the room you have to go searching one by one until you find a free one. WIFI IS PRETTY BAD IN THE ROOMS.
Beds are okay.

Austriarooms were a bit smelly; no showers on the same floor (had to cross the whole hostel for taking a shower); basically everything is charged extra (locks, storing luggage…); dormitories are not separated- ended up with 16ppl in 2 rooms being 1 room
great location, the pub at the reception offers good value-for-money

Location is great, right on the shopping areas of Edgware road, marble arch and Oxford circus, plus Hyde Park and its walks. Regents Park and zoo... The coffee is good!

GermanyThe rooms were very small and the one window couldn’t be opened, so it was way to hot with 7 people in this tiny room without ventilation.
The staff was so nice and the price was good and you could get as many towels as you wanted. The breakfast was enough for the price but not that high quality.

United KingdomA bit noisy at times when people came in or out of the hostel.
Standard continental breakfast, excellent location, walking distance to bond Street Oxford circus for shopping, Hyde Park on your doorstep, just off of Edgware road, with many, and varied takeaways / north African cuisines.

United KingdomMy first impression of the place was that it wasn’t very clean. The furniture looks worn down in the bar area and when I went to the dormitory area I became even more concerned as this was equally rundown. However, the place is clean enough for a short stay and it did not deter me from spending the night there.
The Phoenix Hostel is based in a fantastic location. Marylebone Station is only 0.2 miles away (which is a five minute walk to and from the hostel). It is also 0.3 miles away from the Edgware Road underground station; this gives you easy access to the Bakerloo Line. Aspects of the facilities were great. You had access to lockers that you could lock with your own padlock and the bed linen and cushion were both clean. There was enough space between the beds to feel far removed enough from others. A ceiling window was kept open throughout the night to allow a cool breeze to blow through the room as people slept.

Hong Kong- I live on the second floor, narrow stairs quite hard to get on with a luggage. - The shower I used only has hot water, it was painfully hot. Told the guy at reception and he said he would get it fixed, something to do with water pressure. - Constantly bumping head against bunk bed. - Not much room for luggage in room, need to squeeze through. - Very hot room under heatwave.
- It is very close to the station, flat roads from Edgware Road to the hostel so it is possible to roll your luggage to your stay. - Also it has a nice luggage store room for you to store your luggage after checking out. - Female dorm is quite quiet. - Locker to store valuables, bring your lock or buy from them.

United KingdomNo really internet or one like from the 80-90 previous century. There wasn't cold water in showers. Security boxes made a grand noice every time room's door were opened. BANG!!! Charging far away from bed, no bed lights. Very hot in rooms no air conditioner. Strange smell in the room. All together a bit too much even for this price.
Good location.

CanadaI had to changed the room for 3 times in 6 nights of stay. Bringing down by stairs my luggage every time i needed to check out and check in for room change. Because the bag storage room is in the ground floor. The internet in the 3rd floor was'nt stable, needed to go downstairs for stable internet.
Safe to stay especially for solo traveller. Good for budget travel. Explore London during the day and just come back at night to sleep safely..belongings are safe in the bag storage room.
