Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI found it hard to cope with the external noise. The trains passed more frequently than I anticipated and often traffic queued back from the crossing and was on the road outside the room. When the vehicle was a truck, it was quite difficult to ignore. Having said all this, the clue is in the name of the inn and I guess I should have stayed elsewhere, in view of my constitution. There probably are quieter rooms too.
I thought the room was really nice. Lots of attention to detail. Nice branded shampoo and conditioner. Decent choice of continental breakfast options, with some items in the room already.

United StatesThere was noise probably from a kitchen extractor fan that was disturbing until it was shut off. The vanity bowl plug mechanism did not work making the plug difficult to remove.
It met our requirements as well as offering complimentary cold breakfast supplies.

Downstairs was very smart, upstairs much less. Excellent reception by helpful staff. Breakfast things available in the room: very convenient. Good parking facilities. Railway absolutely not intrusive; few trains, quite quiet.

United KingdomDisappointed to discover that despite great reviews on food if we wanted to eat it had to be at 5.45pm and finish by 6.30pm because whole pub was being used for quiz night. No prior warning. So we had to go out to eat. On return there was nowhere to sit so we went to our room. Then the music round for the quiz started at 9.45! Complimentary breakfast cereals/porridge were supplied on table outside room. But you had to take them back in to bedroom to eat and make coffee. No toast and fresh coffee as I’d hoped. We left at 8.00 and got breakfast en route. So I can’t recommend and have no plans to return.

United KingdomBed needs to be renewed!! Mattress was very lumpy, springs sticking into your body and twanged every time you moved. Bed creaked every time you moved. I did complain, and they did tell me I was not the first to comment, and the bed was scheduled to be replaced. True or not who knows but I really hope so as this really let the establishment down.
Very clean. Staff very friendly and welcoming, room suitable for our needs. Lovely little village pub/restaurant/hotel

United KingdomBad night due to bluebottles On getting to our room, we noticed a bluebottle. Having waved it out we then had a succession of more. Called for help and Inn's colleague started to use hand held hoover to collect flying and dead bluebottles. He gave us a can of fly spray which we used before leaving for the evening to meet up with friends. On returning late, all seemed fine. However, overnight we had more bluebottles which we zapped with the spray. Even in the morning, after so much spraying, more bluebottles were seen in our room. We left very early in order to get away from our bad experience as soon as we were able. As we went through the landing, we saw more bluebottles on the window. I left a message on the phone of one of the people listed as an Inn’s contact. She was unable to return my call. As it was Christmas, I thought only reasonable to wait a few days before ringing another of the named contacts. He, Pete, advised they would call out their pest control person. Subsequently, Pete advised that the pest control man said the problem was now over. The Inn charged half the room rate.
