Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Parking directly outside property but was quite awkward to enter/exit from/onto busy road!
Warm and comfortable room. Complimentary tea, coffee and cold drinks in the fridge. Private bathroom with a good shower

3rd time staying here, room comfy and adequate, bathroom warm and great shower, showing signs of wear and tear, but cleaned to a good standard and on site manager more than nice enough, local pub and Chinese takeaway also ok, easy parking good value for money

Could have been a bit more milk for drinks, fortunately I’d taken a carton myself so didn’t affect me.

De room a little too small although we knew before!

Only two things cold water tap in small room need's fixing also had traffic noise from the front room but it didn't put me off . I would use again

Single traveller in a double room. A bit compact but everything there, very comfy bed, very nice shower and good heating. 15 mn walk from statio n, 30mn from town. Stayed 3 nights to visit the area. Recommended.

The beds were very hard. The double bed was two singles put together which didn’t help.

Although the room was clean enough the floor could have been cleaner, I noticed walking in my bare feet it was a bit grubby but it wasn't manky. Didn't detract from the overall pleasant feel and I just put my socks back on!
self check in was easy and straight forward, the facilities were better than expected for a budget hotel and the mini fridge with complimentary water and juice was a really nice touch. The shower was hot and powerful with plenty of clean linen. The room was comfortable temperature, and a kettle with tea, coffee ect was provided alonalong with a microwave. It really is more of a stopover than a hotel per say, so perfect for those travelling with work, or visiting hospital. The walk to the hospital in the morning was straight forward and took me only about 20 minutes tops.

Inside the building smelt of marajuana
The room was clean and spacious, warm and cosy with complementary drinks on offer, good car parking facilities to the rear of building.

It was not clear on the website that it is in two separate locations down the road from each other - please be aware of this when booking as we wanted to be together.

Nothing much but if I'm being picky...... No coat hook Hangers were directly above the coffee/tea making and so couldn't boil kettle as clothes too close

The upstairs neighbours were extremely noisy it sounded like they were moving the room around and the front door was slamming shut all night.

Just a word of caution: doors on first floor were immediately next to the stairwell.
Stayed here after coming back from Europe via the ferry to Harwich. Room (6/7) was clean, comfortable temperature, and remarkably quiet for being not far off a busy intersection. Host had put complimentary drinks in the refrigerator, which was most welcomed.

Everything was fine for what I needed.
The remote check-in procedures were well-described and efficient. Comfortable accommodation. Good standard of cleanliness. I noticed what seemed to be good parking facilities that are on-site, but having travelled by train I had no need to use the parking.
