Arriving a little early we thought we’d have to wait around until check in time. However the staff welcomed us in and allowed us to check in early. Very friendly staff, beautiful hotel, the room was top class. We can’t wait to go back again and would highly recommend The Rutland as your first choice ❤️

The beds sizes were inconsistent between the different rooms, some were king and some were double where a king or queen would have been more appropriate and better for a couple.

We absolutely loved every single thing in apartment 1903, the decor is just fantastic and it was very comfortable and has so much character too. Perfect for a home from home feel, with an open plan kitchen/living room, a large bathroom with bath and a shower, and heated flooring, also a separate toilet. The location was perfect and nice and quiet at night. Huxley is great for breakfast also

The whole team at The Rutland went above and beyond our expectations during our stay. We really can’t thank them enough. The reception team were always a pleasure, making sure we always had everything we needed, and could always answer any queries we had. The room was in immaculate condition, with great decor and a fascinating view of the castle too. A selection of bars/restaurants were available to use, which were pretty much under the same roof as The Rutland too. This was fantastic for us as it gave us the option to grab something to eat/drink close by, meaning we could fuel up for a big day or wind down close to home if needed. We visited The Huxley Bar for breakfast one morning, and also Kyloe one evening too for dinner. We couldn’t pick a single fault with any of our meals at either of these places (plus, we got a discounted rate too due to us staying at The Rutland - bonus!) Me and my girlfriend went to Edinburgh to celebrate our 1 year anniversary, and we were left with the feeling that we never wanted to leave. Such a memorable experience. We hope to return soon in the future. Thank you to everyone that made this experience the best it could possibly be!

The windows of the room were above the tram line, and while sound isolation is good it is not perfect

Comfortable hotel in a very central location, good temperature control, excellent tea and coffee facilities, was open for late check-in.

Excellent location for exploring Edinburgh. Each room makes the most of the period features and is decorated in a unique style. There is all you need in the room to make your stay welcoming and comfortable. The staff are friendly and happy to help. Would totally recommend staying here.

The room was very comfortable , we enjoyed the decor and the coffee machine ! Added extras like the ghd hair dryer and straighteners were very much appreciated . The foyer was very welcoming and the whole hotel was beautifully decorated.
