Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A little gem in a great location with all public transport within 5 minutes. The host were fantastic both interesting and engaging. Defiantly stay there again.

Linda and Tony were fantastic hosts! Very warm and welcoming. Excellent service and breakfast was amazing! Would highly recommend. Lovely couple and great hotel! Excellent location - five minutes walk to pleasure beach. Will definitely book the Scala again.

The wasnt really any bad points with the hotel the onmy thing was the distance to Blackpool town centre
Very clean and tidy hotel ,hosts Linda and Tony where very polite upon arrival.and throughout our stay ,Breakfast which is included in the price was up to a high standard

The hotel is a beautiful Art Deco style and my stay was wonderful. Tony and Linda were fantastic hosts and only too happy to help, the breakfast which was included in the room price was exceptional and rivalled cafes I have visited. Will be pleased to stay again the next time I’m in Blackpool

Our stay here was amazing! The hosts went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect! The room was great and extremely clean! Breakfast was absolutely delicious! Location was close to the prom and pleasure beach so ideal! We will definitely be back very soon! Thank you very much for a great experience!

Room was a little on the small side, but i only stayed 1 night for work, but was packed with everything you could need or think of. All in all i had a great stay and would definitely stay again. Well Done guys.
Run by a lovely couple and made to feel very attentive an welcome on my visit. Hotel & room was spotless from top to bottom. Breakfast was Absolutely lovely!! Loved the Gatsby Art decoration vibe ground floor & bar Area.

Absolute gem, hotel is spotless, food fantastic, Tony and Linda could not be any friendlier, 2 minutes from the tram or bus stops, nice and quiet, 5 minutes from the pleasure beech, train station just around the corner, my wife and I booked a king size bed (room 9) it had a small fridge freezer large screen Lg smart tv, plenty of tea,coffes,hot chocolates two complimentary bottles of cold water every day, and a shower that works (unusual for blackpool), also benefits from having a lovely bar, pool table in it's own room and a lovely sun room. Already booked for September weekend. All in all got to be one of the best hotels I have stayed in if not the best. Can't thank you enough Tony/Linda, see you in September, many thanks. Nothing everything was perfect
Had an amazing stay here. Only wished we were staying longer. We were there for an ice-skating competition which was very local to the B & B. Linda and Tony were amazing hosts, made us feel very welcome. Our room was very spacious and exceptionally clean. The downstairs and bar area was very quiet and a great place to relax outside of your room. Breakfast was amazing with good choice - hot or cold. Location was perfect for the pleasure beach. I couldn't ask for a better place to stay and will definitely stay there again. Highly recommend.

The room was small although clean and tidy the stairs were a bit of a problem to us we should have asked before we booked

Location: Very Good, near to Pleasure Beach. Breakfast: Very Good. Parking: Can be difficult in Blackpool, but they have some spaces available that you can reserve.
