Staff extremely helpful and friendly, especially at breakfast. Good breakfast choice. Lovely gardens positive asset to experience, sitting outside a delight. Our second stay there, and would return.

Really friendly helpful staff. Clean comfortable room. Not sure it was worth the price but overall a really nice and convenient place to stay. Lovely garden but it got extremely busy in the nice weather on the Friday afternoon

Cleaning. Cobwebs. A little under par . Mirror smudgy . Tacky mirror switch. Just needed a little more cleaning. Torn curtains. Just needs a bit of tlc . But lovely size and bright room overall. Waited ages for breakfast but not satisfactory when arrived. Requested hard eggs . Returned to kitchen but I could see had been scraped off plate and cooked a bit more. Runny egg still on the plate returned . They were very apologetic and did not charge us. Reasonable and sympathetic outcome. The staff were lovely. I would return but not do breakfast again.

Lovely place to stay to see Hay-on-Wye,step out of front door and you have some great walks by the Wye/shops/Castle.

Staff very friendly. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was nice. Plumbing was an issue no water out of the tap at all for a while and could not flush the toilet on one occasion. Extremely thin walls could hear our neighbours!!

Very disappointed with breakfast. Poached egg was not well cooked and food itself was not of high quality. No fresh fruit available. Cups in rooms and at breakfast were dirty inside which was off-putting. Plumbing was inadequate. Took ages for sink water to drain or loo to flush. Walls between rooms was quite thin so could hear occupants snoring in next room which disrupted sleep.

Staff were excellent, especially Sarah. Room was bright, airy, and spacious with chairs and a table. Beds were very comfortable. Super lighting with touch dimmer switches on bedside lamps. Beautiful garden for use of guests, plus lounges and bars.

Tight parking in small car park, squeaky floorboards and lack of one handrail on steps leading to our bedrooms. Challenging when carrying luggage.

The restaurant was rather formal and lacked atmosphere. Our room was small and a bit cramped but had all we required for a single night stay.

Main Car park small and didn’t realised about the overflow car park as no signs. Great parking when you know where it is though! Odd smell from toilet every now and then. Maybe sewer smell Towels had a strange odour to them. Possibly damp/musty but couldn’t quite work out what it was

The bed was a bit hard, and the toilet was running all night which was a bit distracting.

The hotel was very nice and staff were really friendly and helpful, we felt very welcomed. The breakfast was delicious and well worth it.
