The only thing was that the bed was very creaky and wobbly

I liked the location and the breakfast was lovely and just what we needed for our walks! The staff were lovely and very accommodating too.

If you choose porridge then it should be considered as an alternative to a cereal and not charged as an extra if you also have a cooked breakfast . Seems penny pinching and does not happen elsewhere Some minor Room 2 issues could be addressed - eg absence of hooks on doors for coats, mirror light not working, no shelves in bathroom or shower for toiletries, No glasses for water Worth installing an EV charging facility in the car park.

Breakfast quality good and service excellent . Evening meals good but worth changing at least part of the menu every day even only if one item changed The staff were very attentive and welcoming . Excellent people , nothing too much trouble

Bed was uncomfortable and small so we would choose a larger bedroom next time.

Bathroom ventilation needs improvement- strong damp smell.

Location- lovely views and less than 15 mins walk to grasmere shops/pubs. Walks from the doorstep. Room was very well decorated and spacious and well appointed.

Cosy, decorated for Christmas. Real fires. Sat by the fire for our meal. Steak pudding was soo tasty Lovely views. Lovely cute bedroom. Lovely sheep. Staff were lovely, friendly & helpful :)

Being located very close to the kitchen extractor fan, which you could feel the vibration and one night the fan was not switched off overnight and was a continual drone. View from room was a plant pot with cigarette butts from the kitchen staff. Car park was completely dark at night, no lighting whatsover.

Ideal location for plenty of hikes and trails, food was great.

The room (3) was very small, especially the en-suite. It would have been uncomfortable for a longer stay.

Convenient location close to Grasmere village. All the staff were lovely from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. Evening meal and breakfast were perfect. Cosy residents lounge just off the bar area was great to sit in after dinner. Plenty of parking space.

At the rear of the property there was some kind of machinery going from at least 5pm until at least 10pm (a generator??). It didn't disturb my sleep, though, because it was turned off some time after 10pm and so I had a sort of quiet room.

The cosy sitting area reserved for residents was very relaxing.

There is nothing we don’t like but it would be great if there were more room around the fire in the bar area with casual seating .

Stayed here may times as a convenient stopover on drive up to Scotland . Cosy, good value and good parking with lovely views . Good food with a fine selection of local beer. Open fires and Woodburners add to the charm and comfort. All staff were very pleasant and helpful.
