Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Unfortunately the host had a severe anxiety condition which we tried our very best to cope with which did not make our stay entirely welcome or comfortable enough. He needs a lot more professional care & advice for doing this kind of job. He had apologised for his outbursts regarding his condition which I fully appreciated. He said some very hurtful things which were uncalled for to me about my relationship with my partner which should be none of his business for being a host. That completely ruined our stay. My partner & I have a very deep & meaningful relationship together. He even said to my partner that I should break up with her. I can hear almost everything he says when he is talking to my partner when I am away from her in another room in the house. Which is due to his illness. Me and my partner communicate which each other all the time & hide nothing from each other. His behaviour sometimes is rude, not polite and very interfering. When he should leave us be as guests most of the time to enjoy our stay. Even though he had apologised and said that he was sorry from time to time is not good enough for running this kind of business. The things he said can not be taken back. We as guests have both agreed that our stay was a huge disappointment. Furthermore his condition is his problem & not our problem which unfortunately made it our problem for the stay. Also on Sunday 9th March at 11am he wanted me to be out of the house and come back at 5pm without my partner being with me. His behaviour was very threatening toward me & my partner. I found that most disturbing and so would anybody else. My partner & I had already decided to stay in on that day to relax. It should not be up to the host to tell us what to do unless we ask if we needed to. His condition is a major concern to be treating guests in this type of manner. It was unbelievable and shocking the way he was.
Prepared our own breakfast, very comfortable place to stay, facilities were good & the location was good. Everything was very well organised. Hats off to the host for that.

I can't think of anything I didn't like.
I had good communication with Richard prior to arrival, and the instructions were clear how to access the property and where to park. Richard was very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and tidy, the treats were welcome. The bathroom was clean, the bath and shower easy to operate with plenty of hot water. Richard offered me the use of his kitchen for breakfast and evening meal which was very useful and accommodating of him. All in all I had a lovely experience.

Very creaky bed and only 1 pillow per person did not prove that conducive for a restful night but this was minor compared to the fact that the owner did not advise us that he suffered from tinitus and would be playing music, throughout the night in the room right next door to ours. This was fully audible in our room and amounted to something akin to water torture. This was then compounded the following morning at 07.30 by the owner having a television or radio blaring from his study which was on the other side of our room. Receiving a text at 07.51 asking when we would be vacating also seemed a little unwelcoming.

No breakfast! Difficult to find the property.
The owner did not provide breakfast and I only saw him briefly late in the evening. He said he wouldn't be around in the morning and no food etc was available. As it was a new property the Sat Nav was unable to locate it and there was no road sign labelling the road. The owner said quite a few guests had a problem locating it.

This wasn't advertised by booking.com as an airbnb, therefore I was expecting a bnb or hotel, rather than a room in someone's rental house. As a female traveller, travelling along, I think it would be apt to make this very clear. Michael was listening to the TV quite loud so I couldn't sleep, and he also turned on the radio rather loud in the morning too. He did turn the TV down when asked.
Michael is very nice and so is pumpkin. He took my booking very last minute which was much appreciated!

Richard was very friendly but just a bit disappointed because was advertised that had a private kitchen but it was a shared kitchen and was a bit embarrassed to use it.

No improvement needed , everything was spot will !
I liked the fact the property was not to far away from my training centre. The room was clean and comfortable, the host was friendly and welcoming and the cat pumpkin is just adorable. Would highly recommend staying at rest 4 u

he knew we was going out at 9am at 7.30am the owner went into the only bathroom and was still in there when we had to go out without a shower or able to clean our teeth
