AustraliaOur room had a nice view but there was no lift and no air conditioning and it was very hot in the afternoon sun. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and it wasn’t that great for the price. It’s a bit out of the way but fine if you have a car, and beautiful Fowey is just a few ks down the road.
It’s an old mansion in a lovely location with a nice view of the harbour in the distance. The building is very grand and has good parking and a lovely terrace where you can sit and have tea or drinks, as well as copious common areas. Overall very good value for the price.

Nice grand old place, comfy bedroom, nice bar & grounds. Parking good. Friendly staff. Had our own patio overlooking woods which was pleasant.

caring staff, peaceful environment, but it was April so don't know about summer period. We didn't have breakfast but had drinks and one dinner. There is a small fridge in the room and the beds were so comfortable.

United KingdomWe booked a modern looking room with a bay view window towards the sea- we got quite a dated room with a small balcony towards the sea; WiFi in the room was really weak; we had booked breakfast as well but there was some mishap & our room was not on the list ( staff handled this well)

United KingdomTV too small and far from bed small bathroom rather dated and with very hard to operate taps - very stiff. Asked for assistance but nothing was done about it. Very hard pillows. Asked for softer one but nothing was done about it. Very little choice in the dinner menu and overcooked and even badly cooked food, breakfast being particularly poor. Bacon like leather, sausages like cardboard, fried and poached eggs overcooked, porridge a solid undercooked mess. No fresh fruit on offer. Room Cleaning every day was barely good enough. Bed sheet not tucked in - we had to do it

United KingdomI thought the room was a little dated. The television was very old and there was an occasional draught from the window. Our room was also above the room where a wedding reception was being held on the final night of our stay which we hadn’t been told about. We could not go to sleep until after 11.30 when the music stopped and we were travelling home the next day.

Lovely views, great setting with the woodland walk, great to have the swimming pool and very comfortable room with plenty of space. We had a garden terrace too which was lovely to open up in the sun.

United KingdomUnfortunately, the housekeeping let it down. The carpets were not hoovered over the 3 day stay. One meal at dinner was inedible, which was credited at the end.
This was our second stay and it really is a great Hotel. Wonderful building and spa area. The staff are all really helpful. The location is ideal and the surroundings peaceful. Wonderful breakfast range and service.
