The wi fi didn't work in our room. The signposting to the hotel was inadequate and we wasted quite a lot of time trying to find the hotel. Our room was right in the basement. The shallow end of the pool was so shallow that we could not swim in that part. The communication at breakfast was very poor but one more experienced lady provided welcome humour. We were only allowed to book in at 4 and had to leave at 10. This does seem poor value if rated as one day.

The room was large and new. It was clean and comfortable. There were seats outside to relax in. The staff were friendly and the reception welcome was specially good. Some of the staff were very inexperienced but tried their best. The view from a higher level was good and there was a nice wooded area to walk in. The pool was well heated and sensibly managed. The jacuzzi was enjoyable and my wife was very happy with the massage she booked.

check in at 4pm is far too late. Especially after travelling from so far away. This is the latest check in I’ve ever experienced and it was awful waiting a full day after travelling to get into the room. No air conditioning - we had a fan but it just blew warm air around the room and didn’t help “fan” 3 of us.

Breakfast was average. The one dinner we had was pretty poor, bad cafe standard at best. Two meals were not edible and returned. Overall the place needs attention. to detail and a good chef to look at the menu and transform it ! WiFi terrible. Lodge basic but was as expected tbh. Although we were promised a sea view that was not the case but didn’t companion.

Pool and spa facilities. Staff friendly and overall had a good time. I wouldn’t tell others not to go.

I can understand why but didn’t like having to book time slots to use the pool facilities. Used to having the freedom to be spontaneous on holiday .

I didn't have great experience with restaurant as there were limited choices of food there. On top of that the waiters were not attentive to our family as they have been to other families. We were polite guests but I wonder why though.

I really like the location and woodlands walk area. The view from terrace was fantastic. The room was quite decent and reception staff were really accommodating.

There wasn't anything lacking, just be aware that there are a few stairs to get to the rooms (especially the rooms upstairs) and it is warm in the rooms in the summer but not uncomfortably so. Will have to return again in the winter to pass fair judgement ;-)

Admittedly I didn't know much about the hotel before our arrival, I just hoped it would be nice as the photos online seem to show, but...what a gem! From first sight of the hotel and grounds, to the warm welcome and to the fond farewell - we all loved every minute of our stay and it totally exceeded our expectations. Every member of the team working there was very friendly and made us feel at home (and yes, they do have a good sense of humour!). The rooms were lovely and large with everything we needed (fridge, hairdryer, bath mat, toiletries, very comfortable beds). We enjoyed both breakfast and evening meals at the hotel and can't fault either. I know some people have complained about the price, but it's not unreasonable considering everything was fresh and tasty. Breakfast was regularly replenished and there was a lot of choice (do book a table at busier times). We took part in the Tuesday evening quiz which was good fun with interesting questions. We also enjoyed use of the swimming pool which has a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi in the same location. The changing rooms were clean and extra towels were available in our rooms. The grounds and building itself are lovely, lots of history and interest (just ask at the reception desk if you want to learn more). The breakfast and dining rooms have impressive paneled walls. The tortoises and play area were a lovely extra for our kids and they enjoyed playing with the large connect 4 in the garden. The view from the back of the building down to the sea was stunning. We hope to return and stay in one of the cabins - one of the other guests I was chatting with assured me how spacious and lovely they were and rated them over and above the ones at Centre Parks. I look forward to seeing them! We didn't get to try out the spa, but I'm sure we will on a longer stay. If you have an electric car, there's a charging point near the entrance to the hotel. I'd write more but have run out of ...!

The room we had was on the second floor which without a lift was quite a hike, as we stayed for 5 nights we had quite a bit of luggage to take up. The room was also very hot.

The hotel was nice and peaceful away from the hustle and bustle, but easy accessible.

Newly opened room was too warm at night probably needs aircon or method of air change. Restaurants not cheap although food great quality and special night put on but little information given beforehand.

Gym was tiny Annoying that you had to book slots for both gym and spa which meant you had to plan ahead which on a holiday isn’t particularly fun Bedroom was very hot (south facing I think) a fan was provided but window didn’t open enough probably due to safety Think there may have been a staffing issue with serving or taking orders for drinks outside

It is a lovely building in the country, I was expecting an old room but we got a brand new on in some sort of renovation it was very nice but not what I expected.

The bathroom was very small, there was no aircon as advertised on Booking.com, the toilet was child's size and the use of the spa was limited.

The staff were polite and the food was mainly good. The view was amazing and the room in general was good.

I did not like the the pool was over crowded. Make it difficult to 🏊‍♀️ swim.Due to lots of kids in the pool had to be careful. The road to get to the hotel oh wow was so narrow. We had to be extra careful not to hit another car. I was so 😱 scared. The restaurant was disappointed not a lot of choices with meal selection and no cocktails, just basic drinks. When we first arrived there was 2 bottle waters in the fridge which we like. However no refills of water when room was cleaned.

I love the room was so spacious and tue view from the window was exceptional 👌. The tube inbthe washroom was big and deep which I love. The sunna ,pool and jacuzzi was OK.
