Maybe have a word with the pizza maker. 1 cm of cheese was a bit too much topping 😜 It's not really a complaint as such.

The staff were a real credit to the hotel, they couldn't do enough for you. The cabin we stayed in was spotless. And the breakfast was fantastic.

Something wrong with toilet plumbing in room 102 understandably meant unclean toilet but strangely also seat was dirty on arrival. Certain staff seemed a bit rabbit in headlights at certain normal requests such as booking time in the pool. Some didn’t know the area or that Daphne Du Maurier used to live nearby. But on the whole good value for money although best restaurant and bar were expensive.

Wonderful food - good service for all breakfasts and dinners. Lovely old building with interesting history. Good size rooms - nice grounds - handy to have a pool. Arranged cakes balloons for daughters birthday in room and at special meal which was lovely. Let us know just in time that our original planned birthday dinner clashed with their quiz which meant we could make other arrangements within the day. Restaurant manager very kind and hospitable. One lady very helpful at breakfast on local walk suggestions and very kind. Would stay again, maybe in different room.

Room disappointing-thermostat made a strange noise all night. One cold tap didn’t work, the other not great, and hot water too hot. Shower hose too short. Only one bedside lamp. Bed and pillows very hard.

There is no way to walk directly to the beach from The grounds although it’s very close - you have to walk on the road for a bit.

It’s a Beautiful stately home with amazing woodlands. Our lodge was fantastic and well equip. We loved the sauna & steam room & pool.

The bed was small and hard… so didn’t sleep well. There was an overwhelming smell of toxic air freshener when we arrived. It caused me to have a headache. Eventually it went, but for 2 days it was bad especially in bedroom.

No lift. All bedrooms had a flight of stairs which we didn’t realise when we booked - not god for those with mobility issues or with a young baby (pram etc).

Evening meals so so - food and drinks very expensive and very small portions . Evening food was ok but for the money you would expect better . Breakfasts are excellent .

Choice at dinner slightly limited and did not match with menu on dining room door or what was advertised on web site - possibly due to the time of year. However, it was well prepared and cooked.

Very comfortable room with excellent view. In view of the size a couple of small chairs and a small coffee table would have filled the space. Breakfast very good. Staff, particularly on reception, were very helpful.

We'd booked a family room but on check-in we were told we'd been upgraded to a lodge, which was amazing. The whole place was very spacious and clean, and all staff were friendly, helpful and courteous.

On arriving, we were told about a jazz evening which we booked and looked forward to. It turned out to be an evening meal with jazz accompaniment. We were told that we could sit in the entrance and listen but the reception muzak overpowered the live jazz. I feel that the staff need to describe things correctly to avoid disappointment.

The facilities are excellent and the whole hotel was very clean and comfortable. The pool and sauna etc were very enjoyable and the breakfast was one of the best we've ever experienced. Especially as we sat looking out towards the sea.

Staff in the morning were frosty, one young girl in particular was scowling at everyone she was taking breakfasts to. Not really friendly at all. I was asked when paying for my breakfast where I was from in the UK, and when I answered Cornwall the staff seemed to change :/ Also having to pre-book the pool and gym before you go didn't really work out either. Spontaneity is way more relaxing when staying at a nice property like this one.

Close to Bar Silo - we stayed here as we were watching a gig at that venue. Beautiful building and comfortable big bed.

Some of the menu I think needs to be looked at the pizza was death by cheese to much cheese.the 5 days we were there it was the same things on the menu.

It was a beautiful place,,the room was lovley, the grounds were beautiful.
