Perfect venue for a night over in Newport.

Great location. Quirky building which added to the experience. Family room was large enough to not feel cramped and the breakfast was well worth the visit.

Shower didn't work right, it's either cold or boiling water. A bit noisy because apparently it's a really popular pub in a Newport centre.

We loved food, the English pub vibe. Fire place with real fire. Good choice for few nights winter time.

Our room didn’t have any natural light coming in but I think this is probably why it was such great value for money. Other than that, everything else was very nice!

Our room wasn't ready for our 3pm check in. When we did enter our room, we found that it hadn't been cleaned! The toilet was soiled, the floor was mucky and there was no toilet roll in the bathroom. On looking for an information sheet regarding breakfast times, we found a previous guest's underwear in the bedside drawer! (but no information sheet) We were however given a voucher for two complementary Sunday lunches by way of compensation, which we gratefully received.

The pub downstairs was very friendly with a lovely atmosphere and the food was very good. Breakfast was excellent value for money.

The only downside was the shower leaked and I heard the people underneath got wet in the morning from the leak!

It was quirky. Enjoyed the food, drinks, warmth and friendly staff. Pool table and shots were fun in the evening.

We couldn't play darts because there was a board with no darts and in the dark. Parking comes a bit pricey owing to being in the multi-storey opposite. The initial welcome wasn't great, though it was better afterwards.

Good variety of breakfast. Really comfy twin beds. Historic pub. Good central heating. Cosy bar area with fire where we could sit and play cards without needing to buy a drink!

The parking was a little difficult but only in an annoying way. There were plenty of car parks around and all could be used for overnight parking. But they all used parking apps which kept going wrong. Still, it gave us an excuse to walk past the bakery each morning and we found an adorable little courtyard which if. It hadn't been for the rubbish parking app, we wouldn't otherwise have found it.

We loved the bar/restaurant. The food was really hearty pub grub, brilliant chef. We also loved the breakfast room with its view across the square. We loved the location, it was wonderful to walk across the square to the Italian restaurant one of our nights and then walk back the few steps at the end of the evening.. the room was very comfortable and warm.

This is an old small hotel, staffs are friendly, breadfast is excellent. We got all the essentials in the room, clean and tidy, toilet a bit small. Location is great, in the city center, bus station is just 2or 3mins walk. There is a multi storey car park opposite the hotel, it looks difficult to park. we parked our car in other big long stay car park which is within 10mins walk. As it is locate in the city center, a bit noisy before 9pm .after 9 is ok.

Shower in the room was cold for some reason but we didn't mention it as our stay was only for one night and we just needed somewhere to get our heads down. Although outside of their control parking in the multi story opposite whilst convenient was a bit of a faff. The app would only allow me to book 7 hours max which meant I had to set an alarm in middle of the night to top up parking fee to avoid a big fine!

Great Breakfast and location. Lovely pub atmosphere in the bar with open fires. Quaint old building with nice features Friendly staff. Nice Pizzas. Live music on Saturday was fun!

We were surprised that the rooms were not cleaned and beds made up every day, but it wasn't much of a problem just to fling the duvet over again.

Breakfast was more than excellent with no limit on what you wanted or ordered, the quality of the food and cooking was also excellent. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable I had an excellent sleep.
