Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe stairs were very steep, we were warned about them but only after we’d booked. The room wasn’t ready when we arrived, but it was quickly put right. Plus, chocolates and wine to say sorry.
Good location, easy walk to centre.

United StatesAlthough this is a newly renovated property that is done to a nice standard, it was listed in TripAdvisor as a bed and breakfast but there is NO breakfast. So budget for an additional £15 pp for a cooked breakfast in town if you stay here. Additionally, the room is advertised as a "King Double", but it is a UK king (5' wide) and the rooms are pretty small. With no breakfast you might want to bring in food to eat in the ample kitchen and outside areas, but that might be challenging since the kitchen area has no sink. There is coffee, tea and a fridge, so that is convenient, but food prep would be tough with no running water. Also, there are Ring cameras in the common area which might make the privacy advocates among us uncomfortable. The property, being a typical row-house, has a steep stairway with large step sizes, so this might not be a good choice for an OAP or anyone with disabilities as you will have to lug your bags up it. No problem if you are fit, but if you are a pensioner who is considering this property and has issues with stairs, you may want to book only the room on the ground floor. The biggest disappointment with our stay is the 10AM checkout time. We stayed here before a flight out of Heathrow, and stayed in half a dozen properties across Europe and this was the only place that a checkout earlier than noon. Given that you will need to go in to town to have breakfast and might want to freshen up before checking out, we found this really annoying. Add to that we got a rather urgent and irritated phone call from the host telling us to get out of the room so housekeeping clean really made us feel unvalued as guests. The fact that we could have booked the 4 star Christopher Wren hotel for just a tenner more on that night and gotten a full English Breakfast leads us to conclude our decision to stay here was misguided. This is a nice place, but it is not 9 out of 10 nice as the reviews would lead you to believe.
This property is a newly renovated row-house that is centrally located and is just a short walk to the center of town. The location is the biggest upside to this place, and it is close to the train station so if you come in via train it is very convenient to get to. The street it is located on is busy and has next to no curb-appeal, but once you open the door to the place it is clear that the owners have done a great job updating and refurbishing the property. It is truly nice inside.

AustraliaThe room was very small for a family with suitcases. The hot water system was either cold or boiling for one persons shower. The air conditioning had not been used in some time and had a funny smell.
The property was located very close to the city centre and Windsor castle. The aesthetic was very appealing and it had all the facilities we needed for our stay.

United KingdomWifi link to the studio room was very unreliable. When it was not working there was no tv available. The bedroom layout with two beds was too cramped, leaving only limited clothes storage. The shared kitchen facilities were limited, e.g. no kitchen sink.
Good standard of decoration with modern facilities. Marius was excellent in trying to help with the wifi problem.

United StatesRoom was quite small - bed had to be pushed up against the wall making it difficult for person on inside to get out of bed for bathroom break. Shower water could not be well regulated - you had bursts of cold & bursts of hot water. Stairs to room were quite steep & had very short treads making it necessary to put foot sideways going down the stairs. Parking was ridiculous - you could not pay once for overnight. For a younger, single person - the room would have comfortable with exception of shower.
Great location; place was clean. Central lounge was nicely decorated.

AustraliaVery ambiguous directions to the rooms following a video on YouTube. No room numbers. Other guest was equally confused when we found her upset in the lounge area. The room was not at all suitable for a family. There were 2 small double beds crammed in against the walls. Meaning you either had to climb over your sleeping husband or off the bottom of the bed. You couldnt have the luggage open without everyone having to be either on the ned or out of the room. The room was hot and the large fan did little other than make a noise. The TV didn't work despite the owners saying it did. When I sent a message he said to select from the bottom 🤷♀️
The location was fantastic and super close to return from a day in Windsor. Room was clean and bathroom modern. The bed whilst cramped and small.was comfortable.

United StatesNo lift. The stairs to the room were not for the faint of heart. Narrow, steep, and not suited for trying to carry a suitcase either up or down. Took a while. This stay had no communications from anyone. Found the room by entering the last 4 digits of my phone number and one door opened. The password for the internet was nowhere to be found. No one was there to ask. The next morning we asked one of the other guests, and they had it. A card or note in the room with the password would have been nice.
The room was very nice. The lounge was also nice
