A dog friendly hotel yet didn’t provide beds for dogs or feeding bowls in rooms. The tv was a nightmare to try and use. Nothing was tuned in- Netflix in Spanish . No phone in the room to call reception. A very warm night with no air con and v thick duvets. Not sure it was safe to leave elec fan on all night. Could hear a constant drone noise in bedroom - maybe heating system? These are all minor observations.. still a lovely place.

Sunday roast was excellent - breakfast v good Had a lovely stay- would recommend.

No non dairy milk at breakfast and I’m dairy intolerant. A minor thing but for the quality and price I would expect this kind of detail to be thought of

Nothing to do with the hotel, but tricky place if you don't have a car. You can't exactly walk down the A road to other places. Users do not exist, I advise pre booking Longleys taxis who are exceptional.

The room was stunning. Beautiful peaceful location.

I guess the only bit is it was when we had dinner there was quite a bit of banging above the restaurant as they are doing up all rooms and thought it was a little late to be doing that but it wasn’t for long and didn’t bother us to much at the end of the day they are making it into a beautiful place to stay in all rooms etc so well done to them

Quaint stylish pub beautiful surroundings stylish comfortable rooms Very lovely staff attention to detail in all aspects Enjoyed it very much good was delicious

Nothing not to like, in my opinion

We stayed at the pub overnight, with our dogs. We had stayed before, a couple of years ago, but my - what a difference! We were given a newly, beautifully refurbished room (literally just across the road) with an enclosed little garden for the dogs - we were also able to make use of the garden chairs and table to have a smashing ‘just arrived’ coffee. The bed was like sleeping in a cloud, the tea/coffee facilities excellent, and bathrobes too!! And a minibar (not that I made use of it, but would’ve if I’d been there any longer). There is a lovely little bistro table and chairs just outside the front door for you sit on and have a drink too. The pub itself - well the decor is amazing, so inviting and calming. Beautifully done, I really really like the plants, it’s like being outside, but inside -yet not overpowering. Food was excellent, we each had a Chilham burger. I had white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake for dessert (delicious) and my husband the salted caramel ice cream. He found the ice cream a little ‘warm’ (??!!) but still delicious and told this to the lovely young lady (Molly?) who collected our plates - next thing we know she approached us and said she’d mentioned this to chef and it was because it was homemade, and so not full of additives. We didn’t expect the throwaway comment to be taken so seriously, and were really impressed that it was. In fact we were really impressed with the service we received from all the staff whilst there. Polite, efficient and nothing was too much trouble. Made us feel so relaxed. And finally, I cannot leave a review without mentioning the dogs. It is a VERY dog friendly pub, and we were given a dog welcome pack - a ball, treats and a couple of poo bags. All dogs welcome, and the resident dogs are absolutely wonderful - so laid back and always up for a fuss. So, safe to say, we will be going back there as soon as we are able and would recommend this place to anyone, with or without dogs.

Everything was great . To get total 100% ? A bottle of spring water and soya “milk” capsules in the room would do that!

Really good attention to detail…Warm, clean , comfortable room with really good quality bedding, way above average tea and coffee bags in the room, good toiletries and powerful shower , plus impressive veggie breakfast.

The only one downfall which let the place down was there was a broken gutter and unfortunately it rained that night so we could hear a tapping as rain built up was hitting the window seal but other than that it was perfect.

I loved the location as it was situated down a quiet backroad just 10min from the town center. The menu was everything we wanted with loads of starters and nibbles which we love and the service was outstanding. A lovely quiet cosy pub/restaurant/hotel which was exactly what we was looking for, for a nice little getaway. Would definitely stay there again if in the area again.
