Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe food wasn’t the best; the chicken burger was raw, veggie options limited. But for a community pub, it was fine & as above, the Bryn Arms is only a short drive. There’s nothing else in village except a small shop so I’d advise taking snacks & supplies. We stayed for New Years & was a bit disappointed as there was no entertainment or music (except a dj in basement) & lots of kids & teenagers running around. But it’s their local pub & we were only guests so we can’t complain, was just disappointing after how good the previous night had been
The hotel is lovely & cosy. The room was very clean & the shower had good pressure. There’s lots of parking outside. The local area is stunning, with several walks. Cynfal waterfall trail starts about a 2 minute walk from the hotel - it is breathtaking; don’t miss the opportunity to see it. About a 10 min drive away is a lovely pub called Bryn Arms which did great food, with veggie options. Ffestiniog power station is also a 10 minute drive, with lovely views, more waterfalls and a decent cafe. The stream trains also come right past the cafe. We met lots of very friendly locals, who gave us tips for walks we would have missed and shared the history of the town. There was also a welsh male choir singing hymns, and a local band who were did an impromptu mini gig. It was just perfect!! Drink selection in the bar was very good. They pull a great Guinness We will definitely be coming back!

United KingdomThe shower was installed on a pedestal, so you had to climb up quite a bit, and at 1.92m height I struggled to fit under the shower head. But it was no major issue, and this is perhaps something that will be resolved with the upcoming renovation.
We arrived very late, so unfortunately the pub kitchen had closed. A few minutes after chatting to the very friendly bar staff in the pub, a lady appeared with a couple of toast slices, butter and jam for us. So, top grades for the commitment and helpfulness of the staff. The family room was as expected. The building is old and listed, so don't expect a perfectly modern room. But it all works fine and considering the age of the building and the fact that it's community-run, this is perfectly fine and kept clean. I understand that the rooms may be renovated soon, so things might improve further. Our room was spacious and very quiet - though perhaps the rooms above the pub may be a bit more noisy until it closes. Breakfast was fine with all the basics of continental breakfast - toast/jam/butter and also various cereals/yoghurt plus tea/coffee. Plus, we had a nice chat with the friendly lady looking after the breakfast.

United KingdomThe only thing I would like to see different is more items on the breakfast menu. Despite it being a continental breakfast, the selection was very basic - limited to toast and cereal. Most hotels continental breakfasts offer a few hot items too, like bacon or eggs - made to order to limit food waste.
The hotel is situated in a very convenient location, on the Snowdonia Slate Trail. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcomed. The atmosphere in the pub and hotel was very friendly, it was great seeing so many people come together and sharing stories. They have a few events on during the week, so a great place to stay if you want to hike during the day and be involved in a community event in the evening. The food was delicious and the portions were huge, real good value for money. Very accomodating, we will definitely come back!

United KingdomThere was some confusion over my booking when I arrived. The lady in the bar didn't know that I was due to arrive, and she said I wasn't the first guest to arrive that she didn't know about.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a lovely atmosphere in the bar, and they served a good pint. The room was comfy, though did look a little tired, but it was clean. It was in a good location and easy to find.

United KingdomThe shower in my room (3) was hot but not powerful enough. I did mention this to staff. This was the room I stayed in last year and don't remember a problem with it, so I'll put it down to an unexpected reason. Otherwise, there's nothing to dislike.
I've stayed before and knew what to expect. It was clean, comfortable and good value. I was in the area to compete in an event and this accommodation fitted the bill nicely. The meal I had was plentiful and good value. The bar and beers were good.
