Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI liked everything
I stayed in a private room which was huge and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and better than I expected and Eva who was taking care of everything was wonderful, friendly and helpful. It's just a 10 minute walk to Liberty Square and maybe 15 mins back because all uphill.

United Arab Emiratesthe room was very very warm. the fan was only aiming at people sleeping on the bottom beds. the room itself didn’t have good airflow maybe from the cabinet blocking the window, or cause some of the hallway windows were closed? not sure why but it got very stuffy in the room.
very well ventilated, good sunlight, location is great, it’s a big walk up the hill leading to it but it’s still very close to things you want to see around tbilisi. the lady keeping the hostel is super sweet! has good English and is easy to talk to, she can help with anything.

SloveniaIt could be better marked on the street with a more visible sign.
Good hostel for a solo backpacker, good price, has all facilities - including a washing machine and detergent. The staff was very nice and also other travellers were very chill and friendly. The location is on a hillside on a quiet street.

CanadaBathrooms were grimy. No shower curtian and so the floor was always wet. I saw them clean every day but it was splashing the bathroom down, but it really needs a good scrub. Bathroom also smelt a bit mildewy/septicy. Only had hand soap in one bathroom. Door to my room had to fight it to get it to close and latch and super loud to open it. Bed in the double room was kind of hard and could use some better fitting sheets, bottom sheet was too small to be tucked so often you ended up partly on the exposed mattress.
Friendly staff, rustic old school feel. Good price. Small so its a bit more like a guest house feel.

Ukrainei only spent one night there, and i enjoyed my stay; however, you should keep in mind that it’s an old building (hence be ready for everything that comes with that), and the windows in the dorm room overlook the street, so you might be woken up by car noise (just like i was). also, i only had cash but they didn’t have the change, so i had to go out and get some change. if you wanna come here i’d recommend to have the exact amount ready.
i really liked the local vibe in this place; it’s very authentic, old-fashioned and spacious. it was also fairly clean and good value for money. the staff are such nice people, i wish you guys all the best ✨

United KingdomIt is an up-hill walk to get there, so just something to bear in mind, if this may be an issue for others. however, it wasn't a problem for me. Also, water went off for majority of my stay there (only one night), but this was an issue that had afflicted the city as a whole, so unavoidable by the property. They took measures to mitigate this unexpected occurence to the best of their ability.
Nice, airy hostel. Not too far a walk down to the main street of Shota Rustaveli. Quite location. Free towel, as didn't bring my own, and no problems with using the facilities to wash my clothes there for free, too.

PolandI had a wonderful experience at this hostel. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The location is perfect — close to everything but still quiet at night. I also appreciated the common areas where it was easy to meet other travelers. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and affordable place to stay!

TurkeyThe place would not be recommended for the one who has difficulties to walk a bit sloppy way back there.
The most I liked about At Funicular Hostel were the people. The manager Alice is a nice, calm, friendly person. She is Russian so if you can speak russian you would definitely feel at home. It's not only the attitude of the staff but also the place used to be a house and that vibe still exists. Hostel has real local Georgian neighbours, too, with whom you are also sharing the inner courtyard. During my stay Babak was staying there also and was assisting at the hostel's work. He was also so helpful and fluent in English and Turkish. During my stay in February the price was amazing for a dormitory room, which was also breakfast included. For price/performance ratio breakfast was also good. If you like to live like in a communal order and like to share your time with your co-guests or host you would love the place. If you use this place only to sleep and leave early-come back late, you will miss the best features of the hostel which are friendship and the old decorated hallway where you can chill for hours or work regularly. For long stayers it's a perfect place.
