Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RussiaThere were a few instances with noisy neighbors for a couple of days. However, we either politely asked them ourselves to turn down the TV or called the reception to report the noise at 2 AM. The managers promptly addressed the situation and informed them of the need to stop such behavior
My wife and I were absolutely thrilled with our stay at Gistola. Price = Quality = Service – it’s a solid 100 out of 10! It was my wife’s birthday, so I reached out to the hotel manager with a request and a question about how we could pleasantly surprise her and make the occasion special. Manager Tedo was always in touch and handled our wishes and request with great care and attention. Both my wife and I were astonished and delighted when we saw what they had done for us. It was absolutely amazing and will definitely remain a cherished memory. The room was decorated with balloons as I had requested, they made a personalized greeting card, and even baked an entire cake—not just a slice, but a whole delicious and moist cake! They also included a bottle of champagne (even though I hadn’t asked for it!). The room was very warm and cozy, cleaned daily, with fresh towels, gels, and other essentials replaced every day. Overall, this place truly deserves its five-star rating. The transfer service was also remarkable—we were pleasantly surprised by how punctual and efficient it was. The car arrived promptly, and any request for transportation was fulfilled within five minutes. A big thanks to the drivers Vitali and Beki as well. We are already looking forward to returning here for our next vacation. Wishing you prosperity, growth, and kind guests!

Very good hotel in the perfect location. We were very positively surprised as there are no other such places in Mestia yet. The staff was very helpful and provided us with nice upgrades as the hotel has not been very busy. Big swimming pool, a new terrace, and good breakfasts. Free shuttle bus to the city center. We will definitely come back.

GermanyEverything was perfect. Conclusion: Whether for skiing or trekking in summer: Hotel Gistola offers a perfect European standard for a vacation in the Caucasus. We will book again!!!!
The Hotel Gistola deserves its 5 stars! How to get there: Mestia is approx. 210 km from the airport in Kutaisi. There are numerous ways to get there by minibus. We chose the convenient option and had the hotel driver pick us up at the airport; travel time 5-6 hours depending on the season. The airport shuttle was very well organized. This applies to all communication in the run-up to the trip. Questions are answered quickly. The staff speak (and write) English. The location in Mestia: The hotel is on the edge of the town, just 5-10 minutes' walk to the center. If you don't feel like walking after long hikes or skiing days, the hotel offers a free transfer to the center. Trips into the mountains or to the Tetnuldi ski area can be organized. The rooms: Either with a view of the mountains or the village with its towers (all rooms with balcony). The rooms are newly furnished and very spacious. This also applies to the bathroom. The beds are of super quality and large. Comfortable armchairs in the room, plus a table. The housekeeping crew is simply great; towels are changed daily. In terms of cleanliness, there really isn't the slightest complaint. The hotel has a large pool (free of charge) and a private sauna (for a fee). Both facilities are very spacious and we highly recommend using them. The staff at reception (and some in the restaurant) speak fluent English. Requests are fulfilled gladly and in a friendly manner; the atmosphere in the hotel could not be better. The breakfast is very varied and absolutely meets European standards. Exception: Caviar is rather rare here in Germany (even in good hotels). The moderately priced restaurant is characterized by a large selection of international and local dishes. Here too, 5 stars! We were in Mestia at the end of the winter season (end of March).

United Arab EmiratesThe road to Svaneti Mestia was a bummer. But the amenities in the property boosted our energies
It’s a hidden jewel in the midst of no man’s land. The manager Ms Maria was polite accommodating to our requests. The place is quiet, ease of check in, clean large beds and toilets, clean sheets, balcony view of mountains was breathtaking. The value for money is EXCELLENT. The hotels have excellent options even for vegetarian families like mine were happy. Must try the pumpkin soup. Millet Kachapuri is their specialty. They even have sauna and heated pool for nominal extra rates. Very lenient with checkout times. Adequate parking spaces

IndiaIts a new, clean hotel with best facilities in this area. Location wise, its walkable distance to center and Museum but a little more distance to Khergiani museum. The view from balcony was awesome, the breakfast was a rich and 'splendid to lavish' spread with a host always attending the layout. The reception girls were very sweet and helpful always. It felt a very new and contemporary styled hotel with big rooms and they have taken care about everything. It's value for comfort and money, recommended.

GeorgiaI didn't expect to find such modern, comfortable, clean and fresh hotel in a such remote place as Mestia. Very friendly and warm-hearted staff who speaking not only Kartuli (Georgian), but English and Russian languages as well. Suits are very spacious, clean and comfortable. Also have huge window and terrace with sightseeing view! Nice variety of dishes for breakfast. Hotel's restaurant also good place for dinner. Hotel is located a bit aside from the town center, but that's just 20 minutes walk. Also if you travel by car convenient parking is available.
