Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Just that it didn't have a bathtub, but I was informed, yet I continued with the booking and I loved it except the street fight that occurred right outside the window. We had issues with the internet but it was sorted right away other than that, it was nice and relaxed space. The Host is an amazing person, would recommend it to others for sure.

Lovely property, fab location. It was a touch noisy in the morning but that didn't cause any concern for us. Fantastic interaction from the host which made me very comfortable and in good hands.

from the start had a very family, comfy and home from home feel, great location in the centre of Gib with easy access to the shops bars and restaurant's I Highly recommend the Clipper there Sunday roast is amazing , the room was perfect exactly as the pictures lovely comfy bed , toilet and shower with small kitchenette enough for 2 adults to make a quick snack breakfast etc, polite staff always happy to help or give pointers on where to go, would happily go back again, Thank you guys for a great stay

Not sure if its the market, however the cost of the room seemed pretty high for the size. Paying so much money one would expect, hair conditioner, kitchen towels and possibly spare towels. The Tea and Coffee provided were mediocre. An improvement of these small things would make it more worth it.
Central location, easy access, staff were very friendly and acted fast when we needed something.

Could not find a hairdryer. Engineer Lane does not have a road sign from Main Street so took a while to find.
Kitchenette great, iron and ironing board. Light control., radiator.

Pillow was too plump for me so I had to go without a pillow. Only one chair in the room so daughter had to sit on the floor. I knew it was going to be noisy from the reviews and it was a constant noise. Daughter (13) slept through it all but I'm a light sleeper. Ear plugs were provided but I didn't feel comfortable not being able to hear anything so opted not to wear them which was my choice.
Central location. Good communication and was able to check in early. Bed was really comfortable. Host very friendly.

Light and fan went out within an hour of being there, but we got by with other lights.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Great location, but prepare to walk about 25min on hilly roads from the border. Staff was awesome even though everything was done online. Leanne P. sets the standard for how to provide customer service remotely. Leanne, you are awesome!

It was all ok!
The location is central, the price was reasonable if compared to other properties but overpriced for the city. The host was very helpful with tips and also allowing early check-in letting me know when the room was ready.

The windows need to be double glazed as the lane is very noisy.

Great location. We didn’t drive and used the bus from the airport to get to market place and it was a short walk from there. Quiet room. Good shower. Simple room. I found the bed comfy. Really useful to be able to leave luggage at the accommodation even after checkout.

Noisy street, but that is to be expected to some extent, given the excellent location.
Great location, and everything I needed was provided. Easy to find and access instructions worked perfectly. Quite noisy street noise but that’s the price you pay for such a good location.

old bathroom - hard to get in the front door when dark.
Great location - bed was small but comfortable - nice people to deal with - handy to have a small kitchen for tea and toast.
