The sanitary facilities were very clean, though confined. But this will be helped during the inpending renovation.

Excellent breakfast, served in our room or on the balcony. The view from the room and both of our balconies was exceptional and therefor priceless. Every day, waking up was like in a dream. From a height of 250 m. we had an undisturbed view of the Egean Sea and the Caldera. The sunset, which we could enjoy from our private space with an aperitif, was enchanting.

Our suite with a balcony overooking the caldera was nothing short of magnificent - and, even better, it was an upgrade by a very gracious host! The view, the location a little south of the main town but close to shopping and restaurants, the ease of getting to the hotel from the main street, the wonderful breakfasts served on our balcony- all were very attractive qualities. And I can't say enough about the staff - helpful in so many ways - from carrying our luggage, to suggestions for restaurants and boat trips, to charming smiles at breakfast!

The Aigialos Traditional Settlement is exceptional. The room was oversized and furnished most tastefully. The marble bath was a complete delight. Breakfast on the special patio overlooking the water and caldera was incredible. This is a most exceptional place to stay -- would absolutely come again! Highly recommended!

1. Hotel entrance is not accessible by direct road due to the location, which means lugging your own heavy luggage to get to the hotel is impossible.

This was the most amazing location I have ever been to, we had a private balcony overlooking the Caldera, where breakfast was served. And what a remarkable breakfast that was! The staff measures no effort to welcome you and to support in anything you need. We missed our boat tour, which was scheduled a month earlier, and Nikos from the hotel managed to book another one for us, last minute! Unbelievable and so kind! And he took us into an amazing overview of the island map, which enabled us to explore everything we wanted without surprises. A great place to stay, walking distance from the crowded Thera city center, with many options. Santorini is an expensive stay, Aigialos is no exception, but it is worth every penny! Go for it, no regrets, I promise! Thanks Aigialos for the great time we had!

Outstanding in every way

This hotel is an old sea captain's home that was converted into an award winning hotel about 40 years ago with only 13 suites available. Our suite was on the side of the cliff and had two doors to a large balcony with 180 degree views of the Caldera. We were a short walk to town and sat right above a great restaurant (Barolo) that had live music every night that we could listen to from our balcony. The hotel is one of the most romantic places I have ever stayed and the staff was among the very best!
