Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The room (the 8 bunk bed one) didn’t have a proper (accessible and clean) space where we could put our bags or clothes; it is missing some more tables or a different lockers besides the ones under the beds which is directly on the floor sometimes not so clean due to some dust or dirt.
The location, the facilities, the staff was very friendly and accessible! There’s a very pleasant rooftop on the 3rd floor where you can relax and a very nice bar/cafe on the ground floor where you can also relax and have a beer or breakfast during the morning.

The only issue I have is that the noise travels so you can hear when someone turns the hand dryer on in the bathroom (which if it happens at 1am can be disturbing). Also you can hear the doors closing and the staff from downstairs.
This property is fantastic. I have stayed here before and love its location which is so central to Monastiriki Station. It's very clean and still feels like new. The staff are amazing very friendly and helpful.

Downstairs was a little loud. People were in the bar yelling until 6am And sound travels through the hostel. But that was the only thing

The cleanliness was unprecedented for a hostel. I don’t particularly like hostels because of how unclean they can be but this one was really clean. Another top feature is the staff. Today was transport strike in Athens and the reception staff helped everyone to get a transportation solution. Very kind, friendly and helpful staff. I will come back for sure

The only issue is that the ventilation window in the shower area is visible from the outside; mirrored or frosted glass could have been preferred.
The location of the hostel is excellent, we are within walking distance to everywhere. The staff is very attentive and friendly. My partner and I preferred to stay in a double room. We could prefer to stay again when we visit Athens.

Having a small shelf beside the bed to put your phone/glasses/etc for the night would be nice
AMAZING STAY! Everything was very new and exceptionally clean. There is a cheap and nutritious breakfast available on the first floor + you get a free welcome drink

The room was very clean and spacious, felt fresh. It’s in a great location, in the heart of Athens, so it’s great for travellers. Bathrooms were very clean andd modern too. The staff was friendly.

First of all, the location is just EXCELLENT. The hostel is very beautiful, not only the rooms, but even bathrooms, hallway, main café-restaurant, and I enjoyed a lot even the exchange with the people living there! Lastly, I personally appreciated a lot the big lockers we have, cause I was able to store everything while I was gone, so I felt very safe and never worried for any safety/privacy reasons! Overall, I would definitely recommend it!!!

The boxes are surrounded by material that clanks when touched, which happens steadily. The curtains of my box were a little too dusty.

Absolutely fantastic. My stay was super comfortable and special thanks to the hostesses who were so warm and welcoming. The cafe is also really good. Lovely breakfast, coffee, and drinks.
