The location of the hostel is not ideal. Though it is only a 7 minute walk to one of the metro stations and from there only 10 minutes into the fun neighborhood of Plaka, the area you have to walk through does not feel very friendly (and you are recommended to not walk there alone at night or go into a certain direction from the hostel). Additionally, the hostel is located next to an incredibly busy street which provided some noise during the night. Ear plugs are recommended. All in all, though, I still enjoyed my stay!

The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, airconditioned and ours had an ensuite which was a real bonus. Also, the hostel has an easy-going vibe. The staff is very friendly, and the common space in the backyard is a nice place to hang out and meet other hostel guests. And the hostel provides tips for local dining and can help with the organization of some tours, which felt very traveller-friendly.

thank you for your hospitality and care. I arrived late at night, the staff prepared everything for me to sleep comfortably. It was quite cool in the room, without a blanket I was freezing. but they helped me with everything and brought me everything I needed! Thanks guys, you're awesome!

The wooden bunks were a bit creaky and getting the air temperature in the room right was difficult. I didn't sleep well. I think the bathroom flooded a bit too and wondered why more effort isnt made to resolve these comfort issues when the rest of the place was so good. I am glad i stayed there but i just wish hostel owners would prioritise the basics - bed and bedding, air temperature , bathroom function. Kitchen comes next and makes a big difference too but here the kitchen was fine i think. Afterall a good sleep is our main need not a free drink at the bar - which i forgot to have.

It is a beautifully furnished little hostel and the welcome was very good. They gave excellent recommendations for local eateries.

Nothing really. the location seems unsafe but It really not.

Everything was great. They were very friendly. I felt like I was staying at my friend's house. the bathrooms were always clean. they offer some free milk, cereal, fruit and coffees.

The garden is huge, filled with plants, truly amazing. Bar has great drinks at fair prices. Everything is sparklingly clean. Rooms have high ceilings and big windows, beds are comfy with blackout curtains that cover 100% of the exposed bed area. The staff is exceptional and beyond expectations, they're the ones that make this a must stay. Will definitely visit again.

Baloo is a beautiful hostel and a magical place! it is ideal for visiting Athens, being in a central position, and it is also a suitable place to meet new people, as it has a garden - Bar, and a very large shared kitchen! the structure is very welcoming and clean and the staff (Tomas, Dimitra, Alexandra, Evans) are the added value of this structure! I'll be back for sure!

The area is a little sketchy, made me a little uncomfortable walking around alone, and its about a 17 min walk to the centre

I did not use the kitchen although it looked great. Maybe I would have used more if I was better informed about what is available/ included.

The staff was fantastically friendly helpful and attentive. I liked the building architecture and interior decor. The interior court bar and lounge was a really fantastic gathering place and to receive guests as well.

I had a fantastic stay here, I met such a lovely group of other solo travellers of different ages and it is easy to get to the old town by walking. The hostel was modern and beautifully presented, it's not too big and it had an outside bar at night so it was easy to make friends. Massive thank you to Tom and Alex working there, it was nice to meet you! I had my birthday there and they went above and beyond to make it an extra special day for me with a balloon explosion on my bunk and a bottle of prosecco to share with my new friends at night. If I find myself in Athens again I will be sure to head back to Baloo Hostel.

The property was a little bit of a walk from the train station.

Its a beautiful boutique hostel with personality, away from standard 'cold' chain hostels. Each corner was decorated and designed with love, and it's nice to hear about the birth of this hostel by his owners. Incredible variety of tea for breakfast:) (coffee also available). The patio and the bar outside: an excellent meeting point to socialize with other guests. Big rooms, comfy beds with curtains for privacy and storage space under the bed for luggage and clean Bathrooms. Location near the metro station Omonia.
