Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomLovely little property with a nice swimming pool and bar. Breakfast was offered in the morning for an additional charge. The accommodation is traditional village room type but perfectly comfortable and clean. Dimitris, the host and owner, really makes you feel at home and makes sure that guests are comfortable and happy. I would recommend the property for short and even longer term stays in the area.

United KingdomWe found the room rather cramped and basic. It seems in need of some updating of the furniture and decor. More variety of fresh fruit at breakfast would be good.
The best thing about this hotel is the lovely pool, plenty deep enough for swimming. Few other hotels in the village seemed to offer one. It is an easy walk of about 10mn down to the village for the beach, shops and restaurants.

United KingdomThe shower room needs updating. The wardrobe was also very tired & noisy to close the doors.
We like the quiet location out of the centre of Matala. The room remains cool even on the hottest days. There is a good variety of foods for breakfast. Provision of a safe is also good , without extra cost.

The pool area is amazing ! The room is simple but confortable and has everything you need. The location is good, with free parking and close to the village. The staff was extremely nice and helpful.

LithuaniaRoom size and bed size (frame at the end of the bed).
It was clean, nice shower room, fridge ant tv. Swimming pool is very nice, breakfast was simple but good, breakfast area was nice to sit in, just beside the pool. Everything was perfect, but room could be a bit bigger. Booked double room and for family (two adults and one child) the room was too small. Keep in mind to check the room size before booking :) Also the beds has a little frame at the end so if you are tall person the sleeping won't be perfect unless you put pillow or something on the frame :) Location is perfect, just about 5min walk from the beach and all the restaurants. Reccomended 9/10

AustraliaThe sign to the accommodation was a little hard to find. The water from the tap would waver between hot & cold.
Near the town of Matala. Car parking was available & the pool was a nice place to relax. Plus the price was very good for the location & facilities.

QatarNothing - the place was ideal for us.
Nice owner, decent breakfast to start the day, lovely pool for a freshening dip at the end of it. Perfect location for a day or two wandering ‘round Matala and braving the climb and descent to Kokkini Amos (entirely worth it).

FranceWhile the breakfast may have been rated as just "okay," it did the job and provided sustenance for our day out!
Our brief stay at Dimitris Villa Hotel was a lovely experience. The hotel's staff left a lasting impression on us! They were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are all located around the back in a quiet area with a really cute and traditional setting. As for the room itself, it was very comfortable and had a nice balcony with a great view! One of the hotel's standout features was its convenient location, just a short 10-minute stroll from Matala beach as well as the vibrant bars and restaurants that dot the area. It’s proximity made our stay even better! Overall, the hotel was perfect for our stay in Matala :)

GermanyThe shower curtain that keeps sticking to ones body when showering. The shower is quite small, so it can't be avoided. The beds could do with new matresses.
Dimitri is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast sufficient, the pool was clean and we liked to spend time there. Despite the shower I would go back there!
