Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

In kitchen you can't cook, there is only kettle and microwave!
It's very clean and beds have curtains so it's very private. Location very good.

My room is on the other side of the toilet/shower room, so I had to walk around the reception, through the kitchen and the common area to get there. If you are in the women-only room, the shower is literally a door away.
The host was extremely friendly and gave us a detailed tour of the hostel and a lot of recommendations around the area. The bed is like a room in itself, very comfy and amazing price.

Everything was good.
I had a short layover and booked for a night, so my experience here is very short, anyhow I really liked the hostel. Beds are comfortable, here you have also some private space. Kitchen and Bath-area were clean. Staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Extremely nice hostel. Towels were luxurious, the beds were super comfortable, it was clean, private and comfortable. Staff were super nice and Dana, the owner, was lovely. The architecture and decor was beautiful, everything was spotless. I've stayed in hostels at the same price point and they don't even come close.

A great place to stay in Oia, I would definitely recommend to anyone. Very clean, authentic and boutique. With this place you can enjoy the atmosphere of Oia without wading through the crowd of day visitors. A night stroll or a morning coffee on the town before the cruises hit is why you should stay here. Besides, amazing staff ready to give you excellent tips on how to explore the island and have the best Santorini vacation.

I love the aesthetic of the whole place. Fits in well with the general beauty of Santorini. And nice to have a bunk that has curtains around it to make it feel private. Everything was clean, and Dana at the front desk gave me lots of helpful information.

The only thing I would raise attention is to have men/women bathrooms in separate locations. Also, a cabin to get dressed or at least leave clothes outside of shower.
Really nice hostel, loved the little dorms. Comfortable bed and very kind staff.

Its a perfect place, spotless clean, best kind and caring staff, beds are comfy, you dont have just one bed but extra space next to your bed, it has garden and terrace. Other guests were all cool young people from different countries. Its a 5 star hostel if hotels had ranking😁 And the location is just next to places where people come and make lines to take pictures and you live there. Perfect, thanks for all your efforts guys. Quite expensive for a hostel and a decent way away from old town
Right in the middle of Oia so walking distance to many restaurants, clean facilities and the bed space was very big making it feel like you had your own room once the curtains were down

Pricey (but in line with Oia prices so not a criticism). Bathrooms a bit far from room, but not a big issue either.
Nice design of rooms, almost felt like a tiny separate enclosed room than a bunk bed (it's just a lot more spacious than I've seen in other hostels). Dana the staff member was super friendly and helpful. Obviously location is superb being right in heart of Oia.

There wasn't a lot of privacy in the bathroom, particularly for the showers. There should be a separation between them and the toilets because anyone could see you trying to grab your towel or clothes.
The bed was very confortable and there was even extra space for a bed side table, which I wasn't expecting for bunk beds and I loved it. It is very well located, close to the bus stop and the staff was very friendly.

Bring a padlock for the locker next to your bed to make things easier as the locker with a key is in the reception area.
Lovely common area, cosy bed, clean bathrooms. I met some amazing people here, wish I’d stayed longer! Memories made for a lifetime :)

Amazing staff and team. Stavros and Gordana made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. It is close to food places and an awesome supermarket. The hostel even had appliances for guests to prepare my food. The local busses run extremely close so you could stay there comfortably and still experience the benefits of Santorini. My stay was beyond my expectations, and I truly want to thank Hostel 16 for their welcoming vibes and beautiful facility.

What a great hostel. Private individual dorms, very clean. The location Is simply perfect ! The lady that takes care of the hostel was very friendly as helpful. It was a great stay 🫶🏼 and Inwould definitely recommend
