This was my 3rd time at this Kumba, and it keeps getting better. Lovely staff, very clean, beautiful rooms, especially the private rooms upstairs. Dormitories are roomy and practical too. In the best area in my opinion, it's close to everything yet in a quieter part of town. Great coffee to start the day! Oh and I almost forgot, during the 3 times I've been, guests were always great to meet and were very mindful and respectful. Never had issues be it in the rooms or in the dormitory. Thanks guys, can't wait to go again!

Everything good, we don’t have complains.

We stay for 5 days in Kumba hostel, we choose the double room instead of the dormitory, and it was the best option really, very quiet place,close to the center of chania, the room was very good, we have everything we need in the room, and even have room service, the check in was super fast and easy, the receptionist was very helpful and kind. There is supermarket super close and the bus station is 20 minutes walking from the hostel, so we have everything close.

All the staff were nice and helpful! The room has A/C, air purifier, private shower and a sink, you get a locker. The "box" with the bed is surprisingly large and comfortable. There is a kitchen and the common area (inside and outside) is very nice! About a 15-20 minute walk to the bus terminal, there is also a nice route to the Venetian harbour, mainly along the seafront. A supermarket nearby. Good value for money! Highly recommended!

the garden stays open at night and weird people from ouside come in to smoke and do whatnot...its not very safe, they should close the garden at night. the street the hostel is on is pretty trafficked Local people seem a bit fed up with tourism

it could easily be the perfect hostel if it wasnt for a couple details. Its a traditional greek style villa with a little garden all around it, rooms are large and cool and toilets are and clean, position is nice 5 mins from the beach

I like everything. Location was also good as we have car, but if I had only 1-2 days without a car then I’d choose somewhere in the old town.

Great atmosphere! People are friendly and it feels like this hostel has a spirit of Bali :) I’d definitely stay here when I go to Chania again. Especially we admire how it was clean, and they clean it as if it is their own home!

Nothing it's one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in throughout the world.

You have a personal cubicle in the dorm room. There's plenty of places to relax. It's clean, nice hot water for showers. There's a free food shelf in the kitchen fridge. It's 50m from a supermarket. Wifi is strong. 200m from the beach. 400m from a free public athletics track. Walking distance to the bus station.

The property is at least 20 minutes walk to the bus station and centre of the town not 10 mins as you say on your website Staff very friendly Kitchen has very limited crockery and could do with more, and then you have the issue of other guests not cleaning up after themselves!

Not enough hangers/hooks to hang towels in the room, definitely should have more. Doors including door handle are super squeeky which causes quite some noise.

Well equipped, good location, beautiful enterior. Mattress was really comfortable and they have very tasty coffee in their cafe.

Great facilities, everything is new! The little cubicle you sleep in is actually very spacious and you have a curtain so it feels like you have your own little room. There’s a kitchen and fridge which was very helpful. Super location (10-15mins walk to the town centre) and super close to the airport (the bus stop is right in front of the cinema - 5mins walk)

My best friend and I loved our stay here! This was the first hostel we have stayed in and it exceeded our expectations. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and we met some really nice people! We stayed in a girls room of 4, and it was the perfect amount of space for us. Location of this hostel was awesome, roughly a 20 minute walk into town. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely come back one day!

One thing to keep in mind is the cleanliness of fellow guests, which is sometimes out of your control in a shared space. Also, while the location is very convenient, being on a main road means it's not as quiet as I initially expected. There’s a bit of noise from cars, motorcycles, and buses, but it’s not a huge issue if you don’t mind some background city sounds.

I had a wonderful stay at Kumba! The hostel offers everything you need, though as with any shared space, not everyone may be as tidy or clean as you'd hope. That said, the location is fantastic—just a 10-15 minute walk from the main bus station, and the airport bus stops only five blocks away, which is super convenient. The staff were all incredibly kind and attentive, making the experience even better. If you're into hostels, I definitely recommend staying here! They also offer private rooms, which adds an extra level of comfort if you prefer your own space to sleep while still enjoying the shared kitchen and lounge areas. Thanks to everyone at Kumba for a great stay!
