Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Limited showers and breakfast was very basic (bread, 2 cereal options and yoghurt), which was not ideal for my gluten free friend. However, expected for the price and therefore still value for money!
Excellent location with super friendly staff. Happy hour free wine too!! Comfortable beds!

I found the bed to be quite hard to climb (upper bunk), like there is a fence missing 😅 would be nice if breakfast had a non sweet option
Staff was great, cozy atmosphere, outlets and bed lights provided at each bed, good schedule of beds in room for max privacy, big storage lockers in room (keys peovided), possible to get a blanket on reception, nice garden area.

the shower is a bit small but okay - did the function
location is in the center around lots of bars, cafes and restaurants- plus 1 min walking to a bus station and 4 min to metro. the staff are very helpful and friendly- besides being professional.

There is no elevator, so all luggage must be hand carried. However, the staff may offer to help!
The lounge was extremely pleasant, and the staff were incredibly nice and helpful

The free wine is not too Greta, but it's free.... So it's optional.
The staff was super friendly, even made recommendations for food/restaurants and sites to visit during my stay. This made the rest of the hostel sayers friendly as well. Met new people instantly that I went out for dinner with the night I arrived. Facility is very clean

only few places to take shower and wash yourself For breakfast there were no ham or cheese, but lot of sugar stuff
Very good prices great meeting places in the outside and inside, it is very easy to get to know other travellers The location is interesting: a alternative student area with bars and restaurants, but a bit noisy

The locker door was broken for me. The outside common shower was a little dirty although this is also dependant on the person who used it before me.
Hostel is well maintained and in a good location although not in the hustle and bustle of syntagma square. Good value for money. I did not spend an entire night however it was sufficient. Breakfast included was good enough. Kept my luggage for free after checkout day. Toilets and showers available also outside the room. Good sized balcony and AC functioning.

People were leaving or arriving at night when you sleep and it makes sleeping good a bit challenging
The breakfast was good. Great area, great staff. The beds have good devisions so you can say you'd have some kind of privacy in bed

I really enjoy staying here. Hostel is nice, rooms were clean, and the employees were always there to help. The hostel is in a lively area with a lot of restaurants and pubs. Breakfast is tasty, between 19-21 they have a free wine.

The bathroom was not very clean and the shower is extremely small

2nd time I'm staying here. Love this hostel so much. Beds are sooo comfy, it's quiet. Free wine. Nice breakfast. Staff is super helpful. And perfect location with amazing restaurant just nearby.

This is exactly what I need in my travels. A hostel with nice common areas, a patio and everything just spotless. The staff is also very welcoming. Help everyway they can and give neat info about the city. Even 4am, the time I irrived in Athens. Excellent breakfast too!

The only real thing I can think of is the showers being a bit small and hard to close which sometimes left the bathroom floor a little wet. honestly not a problem unless you are very tall or sloppy
