This isn't a fault of the property, but just a warning: the property is on a very steep hill — it's only about an 8-minute walk from the port, but if you have heavy bags, you may want to book a taxi.

Mike and his family are very nice and helpful. Great location in beautiful Pigadia and the room has everything you need for making coffee or to prepare a meal for yourself if you wish. The view from the balcony is fabulous. Mike was very helpful connecting me with a rental car company as well.

The main issue was that the beds were very hard so we didn't sleep that well. For some this might be a good point! Secondly, and this would only be an issue for older/less spritely people so I include it for information and not as a criticism - the studios are located in an elevated position with a fairly stiff hill or long flight of steps to negotiate. I managed this fine but my husband who is older and less fit did struggle a bit. If you are in Karpathos to walk/cycle this will be no problem to you but if you have small children or mobility issues it is probably not the best place to stay. Finally, there was a nasty drain smell in the bathroom BUT we reported this and Mike & team cleaned everything, adjusted the pipes and resolved the problem immediately. He was very apologetic and made us feel we had done exactly the right thing in reporting the matter. So this would certainly not put us off - in fact the quick and positive resolution would encourage me to stay again!

We were met by Mike who was very friendly and a great source of information. He informed us that the tap water was not drinkable but gave us a bottle of water to keep us going. The studio was spacious and equipped for making tea/coffee, light meals etc. It was all clean and located in a quiet part of town. The distance to shops/restaurants/town centre/harbour/bus station was short (but see below). Finally, it was good value too.

Fridge needed replacing, no light working on balcony but host did attempt to repair it without success.

The view was stunning, from private balconies with pink flowers. 10 minutes from the port (the road to arrive to the apartment is quite steep, but it was not a problem for us). 15 minutes from a gorgeous wild beach (recommended for the sunrise). The rooms have a fridge and kettle, and on the balconies there is wire for drying laundry. The staff was very kind and available, Mike greeted us on arrival and let us leave our luggage on property after checkout. We absolutely recommend staying here when visiting karpathos.

No fundamental for us, but maybe a kitchen with new furniture will be a nice touch for the value of the studio. Anyway we prepare always our light lunch without any problems!

-The position , really strategic in the hearth of Pigadia but with a lots of privacy, far away from crowds. -every day they clean the room...professional! -the view: our room (room 6) was located in front of Pigadia Port, spectacular.

The kitchen was very slow to heat up. The host told us about water trouble, but we almost did not experience any trouble. Only once there was only hot water in the kitchen - no big deal at all!

We liked the location and the beautiful flowers on our big balcony! If you stand up, you had sea view. Very affordable price and english speaking host. The beds were comfortable. Definitely recommend this place!

Access very very steep, would be difficult for some people. Lacking in nice touches. No shower gel or shampoo, just 2 tiny bars of soap. A bottle of water or tea bags and coffee sachets would be nice which seems to be fairly common practice these days.

Beds are rock solid lol The property is uphill you will need to climb stairs(easy if you’re relatively fit)

Our stay here was great! Originally booked for two nights and extended to four. Great location, good ac/ wi-fi. Ocean view :) The space is very basic but good for what you pay. Room also has limited kitchen supplies if you want to cook an easy meal.

It’s located not far from the port but in a good location for all that you need .. cafes, tavernas .. and it’s very quiet there. The last section of the road to the property is steep but the owner was most helpful in assisting with my luggage.. yes, I brought too many clothes!

The apartment is quite a walk uphill from the beach, quite a few steps , not suitable for those with difficulty walking, especially after a few drinks in the evening ! Apart from that, it's a great place !

Mike was an excellent host, full of knowledge, and the apartment was furnished with all that you need for a great holiday,Greek style, including a fridge and air con.The views from the balcony were wonderful in the morning.Apartment is close to the town, and uphill away from the traffic.

We loved the location, facilities, friendly and helpful hosts and staff. Roses Studios is a short walk from everywhere and everything in Karpathos (Pigathia). We have stayed there before and will definitely be back in the near future.
