A comment for future consideration by the owners: We were in the topfloor apartment. The two smaller apartments below were also both occupied. All of us had cars (essential to enjoy this location and also explore the islands treasures), and realistically there was only space in front of the house for 2 vehicles. A piece of rough unused land beside the house was where we parked. Absolutely fine now, though if this land was developed parking might become an issue for Rustic House. Roads far too narrow for safe on street parking!

Great location at the top of the large village. Very quiet. Wonderful sunsets from the balcony. A few steps and you are on the mountain tracks. Apartment was superbly equipped. Everything worked - even the plug in the bathroom basin (this in our experience is rare for Greek self catering units, and we've stayed in many!) Hosts wanting to please - although we only met the owner's wife (quite delightful)

It is a bit far from the nice beaches and most attractions. But it is clearly defined where it is and everyone has to decide if they want to travel, because the great apartment was worth it.

The place and the apartment itself are charming. Check in was quick with keys in a box. The place has everything you need for a short stay. Including coffee capsules, for which I sincerely thank you. The place is exactly as you see it in the pictures. Clean, very clean, with everything you need in it. It is parked right next to the guest house. It is cleaned regularly. Quiet and peaceful.

Can't really think of anything - except that we are not fans of hand held showers.

Charming. High up in the village with views across the roof tops to the sea and behind to the mountains which were lovely. Several route choices down to the main street, and plenty of scope for places to eat. Fun wending your way back up - the church was a useful guide point! Liked the fly netting in the windows, hadn't come across that in other places we'd stayed. Supermarket nearby, which was useful for basic needs - and no need to go all the way down into the village. Phew!

The streets to the house are tight and the parking is small.

The apartment was clean and the kitchen was well equiped. The bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was really nice. We only stayed here for 2 days but would be happy to stay even longer. The location is good, everything is in 5 min walking distance.

I loved it.. nothing negative to say!!

Fantastic mountain apartment of a very high standard. Great views from the top floor where we stayed, little balcony to drink your local 🍷 Everything you need for a relaxing holiday is thought of. Bonus to have netflix, tea & coffee, washing machine etc. Enjoyed the walk down into the quiet village for evening meals. Had use of the hotel pool, friendly welcome from owners Mum. Parked our quad outside easily. Travelled up the mountain 🏔️ on it aswell. Plan to come back in the winter to enjoy the wood burner.

Everything was fab!

Such a peaceful beautiful 24hours in Embonas! The house is up a bit of a hill, but parking right outside which is very convenient. We walked to the village and back up the hill again later and it's certainly a mini hike (in the heat!). The room is lovely, very quirky quaint, but new and clean at the same time. We watched a lovely sunset from the seats out on the veranda at the front. And slept wonderfully in perfect quiet! Never saw/met the owner, but the key was easy in the lockbox!

Everything was fantastic.

This was an a fantastic location if you like to be away from the busyness that a holiday destination like Rhodes presents. It is up in the mountains and you are staying in an extremely friendly village where we received a wonderfully warm welcome from local people. There are views of the sea from the house and there is parking. It is probably an area you would really need to have a hire car for. The owners were wonderfully responsive via the messaging on Booking.com and were extremely helpful whenever needed as well as keeping us informed when necessary. The room had all that we needed for a very comfortable stay and we enjoyed the little seating area out the front.

Perhaps it's worth noting for those who don't want to scratch a rental car or who might be a little nervous driving narrow village paths, but if coming to the house from the south, consider approaching the house from the north instead (passing the petrol station). The road narrows to a one-car-width just before the house, whereas there's a lot more windy and narrow passages if coming from the south, which would be tricky to navigate should someone else be coming in the opposite direction at the same time.

I stayed just 2 nights in Embona having stayed elsewhere on the island prior - as much as I was sad to leave my old house, Rustic House from Kyriakos exceeded my expectations. Check-in was seamless, parking outside was possible, and the house itself was very clean and comfortable. After long days of hikes and drives around the island, I very much enjoyed coming back to the house to rest and recover.

If you like to try different types of wines and enjoy mountain water from the tap, this is the right choice on the island. If you choose this village, this is the best house. Everything is exactly as in the pictures and perfectly clean. There is a parking space in front of the house, good Wi-Fi and air conditioning and a chess board. Communication with the host and check-in were quick and easy. The hanging wardrobe is about 1.20 meters high and my long evening dress got crushed (joke).

Be aware that Embonas have very narrow streets. this might be uncomfortable for some drivers.

We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment on the first floor. It was spotlessly clean and spacious. The kitchen was equipped with all of the necessary amenities and even more. There is also comfortable seating and a sitting area in the living room. There is also a balcony with an amazing view of the town and coastline. All windows are secured by mosquito nets, which is very convenient. Also, it’s close to the best tavern in the Rhode Island, ΤΑΒΕΡΝΑ ΗΛΙΑΣ!

It is located on a hill that you can reach through small streets. It is doable, but it is typically a road where you hope not to encounter oncoming traffic. There was only 1 very small frying pan, so cooking on the location was not ideal (even while I traveled alone). WIFI not always stable. The view on the ground floor wasn't much; mostly just road and brick. The accommodation has only one window, which is fine, but kept the summer-feel a bit away... Fine for a couple days.

The accommodation was decent. It was clean, the air conditioning worked well and the bed was very comfortable. A nice place to explorer the west coast of Rhodos. The town is small but has some lovely shops en restaurants.
