We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

United KingdomNothing, it was complete perfection!
The hotel is just stunning, from the beautiful pool area to the fabulous rooms. Everything was spotlessly clean and we loved the fact it was small and you felt part of the family as soon as you arrived. The restaurant is fabulous and the food was so wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble and you are looked after by the incredible staff for every moment of your stay. Thank you Terra Nera family! x

Not only the location is perfect, you have access to the beach and the best restaurants on the coast, but also you have the most pleasant views and most comfortable accommodation. I can’t imagine a better place to stay!! Special thanks to everyone working at Terra Nera, you’re really a family in Greece to me🫶

ItalyThat we dd not book for longer time!
Now that I'm back, I'm thrilled to confirm the many positive reviews this place has received. This is a family-run business that shows great care and love in everything they do. They not only focus on providing high-quality service but also ensure you feel at home and well taken care of. My 10-year-old daughter fell in love with Yorgos and Marianna, who treated her like family. The photos don't do justice to how wonderful this place is. The restaurant food is excellent, and they offer direct services to the beach, where you have reserved front-row spots. It was an amazing experience, and we will definitely return if we ever come back to Santorini.

United KingdomI can't think of anything about Terra Nera that I didn't like. It really was a great 5 day break made better by the location, accommodation and staff.
Located on the beach, in central Perivolos, the Terra Nera Suites was in a perfect location, on a lovely Island. I was lucky enough to stay in one of their Deluxe Suites which includes a private courtyard and pool. This was right outside the main pool. The staff were amazing, including the owner Yorgos and his wife. Breakfast options were delicious, especially the Greek yogurt with Honey, as were lunch or dinner options from their restaurant. Parking was provided, and I recommend having a car so you can see more of Santorini as it's such a lovely island.

It is great if you want a more chill location further away from the busy cities like Fira. The room we’re very clean and the reception and owners were friendly and always happy to help

United KingdomThere is nothing I can fault Terra Nera. In our view it is just a perfect relaxing place for us.
There are many things we like about Terra Nera. First and foremost, its the staff which makes it stand out. The family who owns the place is there everyday to make sure we are well looked after. They provide good advice to us for travel tips around the island. After 7 days' stay, they made us feel so welcome that we didn't want to leave. Then the location is perfect just right off the beach next to the restaurant. I enjoyed having a morning dip in the pool right outside after an early morning jog on the beach, and also a late night dip in the pool to cool off after a day out. Because they only have a small number of suites, privacy and peace is almost guaranteed. We also like the food which is Greek/Italian focused but also with a choice of fresh seafood. We tried other restaurants on the beach and we kept coming back to them because of the quality, freshness, value and the service. We also enjoyed the architect-designed split level suite which is well-equipped and very spacious (by far the most spacious of the places we stayed on the island). There is a private roof terrace as well as table/chairs outside our suite right in front of the private pool. Also full marks for cleaniness ( a key requirement for us), with fresh towels and sheets provided every day. Breakfast was an option in our package but the choice is good. We can take the breakfast in the restaurant, outside or in our suite or on the beach (we tried them all for variety)

SingaporeNothing. Its a bit far from Oia and one needs to hire a car to go there. But the good thing is the distance also makes it less crowded unlike Oia which is teeming with tourists.
This little boutique hotel will always have a special place in my heart! Terra Nera is without a doubt, one of the best hotels I have stayed in, in all my years of travel. Right from the booking, the service was consistently OUTSTANDING, with Katerina reaching out to confirm my travel schedule and car booking; Christos painstakingly and patiently helping me plan our sightseeing for each day; and Georgios and Mariana checking up on us at every meal, to check if everything was okay. When we arrived we were greeted with a welcome drink & a traditional dessert that were amazing. The day before we left, there were candles by our door to bid us goodbye. When I enquired where we could buy the traditional dessert which my boys loved, Mariana gifted us a box to take back home. These little touches and personalised attention at this family run hotel, makes guests feel like one was staying with family rather than at a hotel. I travelled with my husband and 2 boys and we had booked the Deluxe suite which was very comfortable for the 4 of us. The loo is separate from the shower which is very convenient when you have a family travelling. The beach is literally a 30 second walk from the hotel and loungers are reserved for the hotel guests so you will always find one. The beach is also possibly one of the few beaches in Santorini that is not rocky and one can actually swim in the water. There are also water sports as well as supermarket within walking distance. Finally, how can I end this review without mentioning the amazing food at Terra Nera? It was so good we did not go anywhere else to eat! The restaurant seemed pretty popular as it was crowded every evening. The seafood was fresh, the meat dishes perfectly cooked and, the Greek salad with the large chunks of amazing feta, the taramasalata, the grilled feta, the yogurt were just out of this world. I would highly recommend this beautiful place.

Every was perfect. Great boutique which is own by a very nice family. We were 2 adults and 2 kids and took a deluxe suite which was very comfortable. The hotel is linked to Terre Nera beach which makes like easier with sun beds. The restaurant was also delicious and very reasonable. We could not have wished a better place in Santorini. A special thanks to Christie who made our life easier and Ketarina. Honestly if I could put 11 I would not hesitate.

AustriaThe village is quite far off from Oia and Fira - which we knew. There is not much to see/do in the evening other than the restaurants around.
Great attention to detail in the suites, amazing service. Very charming family who owns the hotel and the restaurant. Very convenient, especially with kids - there is a pool and an organized beach.

United Kingdom- Bar/restaurant prices are steep in the area (not the fault of the owners, but something to be aware of) - Small breakfast included would be a nice to have (not that it was advertised, it would just be nice)
- Fantastic location, 2 minutes from beach with reserved beach chairs - Friendly owners, make you feel welcome - The staff is extremely helpful with booking day trips and other things - Modern room, beautifully designed and well equipped - Great outdoor pool area (we also had a small private pool, which was also nice) - Attached restaurant is great for breakfast, lunch and dinner; you can also eat directly at the beach
