Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Greece-
If you’re looking for authentic Greek hospitality, peaceful surroundings, and a true sense of place, Theoxenia in Andritsaina is simply unbeatable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family. The building itself is full of old-world charm — traditional architecture, beautiful details, and a cozy, timeless atmosphere that makes you feel immediately at home. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and quiet, with a balcony overlooking the picturesque village and lush mountains. Waking up to the sound of birds and the fresh scent of the forest was a true reset from city life. Location-wise, it’s perfect for exploring the area: close to the Temple of Apollo Epicurius, beautiful hiking trails, and local tavernas where time seems to stand still. If you’re tired of generic hotels and want a genuine experience full of warmth, tradition, don’t think twice — Theoxenia is a rare find. We can’t wait to go there again.

IsraelThe accommodation is on the second floor, but there is no elevator. The road is stunning during daylight, but you’ll definitely want to avoid driving on the mountain roads after dark! Andritsaina itself doesn't offer much to do, and although other places are nearby, the drive can be slow.
The hotel is located in a peaceful mountain village, offering breathtaking views and a scenic drive to get there. The staff went above and beyond, providing exceptional friendliness and helpfulness throughout our stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and everything is spotlessly clean, nd the atmosphere is very peaceful.

ItalyThe hotel is a real gem. it is perhaps the only intact example of a "philoxenia" hotel, an initiative of the Greek state in the 1950s and 1960s to provide the nation with hotels of international standing. There were dozens of them, in a modernist style, with interiors of coherent design, all curated by the star architect Aris Konstantinidis. Today almost all of them are ruins, or have been altered or converted. The Theoxenia of Andritsaina has been preserved and restored with love by its owner and is ready to welcome you with a unique and unforgettable charm. We stay here every year.

FinlandIt was sometimes hard to communicate in English, but this is not uncommon in Greece. We always managed in the end.
This hotel is a real architectural gem in the middle of a stunning mountainous landscape. Built in the early 60s by the famous Greek architect Aris Konstantinidis, some of the rooms have been recently refurbished and modernised, thus offering the best of both worlds: a real vintage experience combined with modern comfort. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and shared a lot about the history of the place.

United KingdomThere is no lift at the hotel, although one is to be installed next year. The hotel is quite large and felt a little bit eerie, because there weren't many guests there when we stayed..
The hotel is situated in a very tranquil village in the mountains. The view from our balcony was beautiful. The staff worked hard to provide our breakfast made every effort to ensure we had plenty of food. Our room was a good size and the double bed large and comfortable. The village gave itself over to a market on Friday which was very friendly. Water for the room was collected from the local spring which, was great.

United KingdomIt is a very quiet location. Good for the temple of Apollo & ancient Olympia. But limited restaurant choice outside of peak season in July / August.
Interesting period property with vintage 60s charm. Clean, comfortable & spacious rooms that have been very recently refurbished. Nice views from the balcony. Helpful & cheery hosts.

United KingdomIf you were making a film set in the 1960s/70s, this hotel would be a great location - think "Overlook Hotel" without the carpet and the ghosts. But for two weary travellers between archaeological sites, this was less valuable. The roads around Andritsaina are challenging (but stunning on a sunny day in May!) On the day we left, the centre was shut for a running race, the diversion looked impossibly scary in our car, and we instead drove in the opposite direction, which, in the mountains, makes for a long detour. If we visit Bassae again, we will perhaps consider staying on the coast.
It's not the best hotel we stayed at, but Andritsaina doesn't offer a lot of choice. (And you definitely don't want to be driving on the mountain roads in the dark! So staying in Andritsaina is your main option after a trip to Bassae.) The building's modernist architecture makes it an interesting museum piece now. Despite the unpromising appearance of the hotel, room was adequately equipped. Breakfast was better than expected. Andritsaina looks shabby at first, but authentic. View from balcony over the green forested hills was very pleasant..

United KingdomOut of season, in early October, the hotel no longer provides breakfast. Not a problem, but as there is space in the room, a small tray with an electric kettle and two ceramic mugs would have been useful.
At first sight this 1960s-built hotel may look a bit tired, but the rooms have been recently refurbished, are bigger than average and very comfortable. Fans of (early?)1960s architecture will love this hotel. The view from the balconies on to the mountain scenery is stunning (very comfy deckchairs) and even though the hotel is right on the road into the village, it is really quiet (the village is tiny). There was a lovely young lady at reception who was so kind, helping me with my luggage and telling me about the area. Finally: there's plenty of parking right in front. For people with children: the hotel has unusually large public areas.

GreeceOur recent stay at Hotel Theoxenia in Andritsaina, Peloponnese, was an absolute delight. The combination of vintage allure and contemporary comfort, complemented by the well-preserved original furniture, made for an incredibly unique and authentic atmosphere. The picturesque views from the rooms, overlooking the traditional village and majestic mountains, were simply breathtaking. Sotiria, our gracious hostess, not only extended a warm welcome but also shared the rich history of the hotel, making our experience truly unforgettable.

GreeceInteresting hotel - the outside looks like something from 1960s palm springs, the hallways are a mix of very traditionally furnished common rooms with seemingly unfinished halls, while the inside of the rooms are modern and minimalistic. Everything was very comfortable and the view over the town and valley was amazing. Staff was friendly and helpful. Free parking.

PortugalWe enjoyed our short stay in a recently renovated, spacious bedroom with comfortable beds, tasteful furniture and a narrow balcony with views towards the tree lined slope across the road. This historical hotel, designed according to the Bauhaus school is located is at the east end of the village, where it was easy to park the car and explore Andritsaina on foot. Staff were extremely nice and waited for us for a late check-in.
