Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere is a power tower in the vicinity which is ugly but necessary, so I just always looked the other way. Sometimes the pueblo doesn't have water, not the fault of the property, but the guests leave all their washing up mess in the kitchen. I kept 2x litre bottles of tap water in my room for when this happened so i could flush the loo and wash my hands.
It's high on the hill away from the tourist area with a magnificent view of the lake, but its only about 6 or 7 minites walk to hippy highway if you want it or the same to la Reserva to swim in the lake. There is a large fridge freezer and small kitchen to use. The patio is swept daily and the local caretakers are responsive to requests. I was on the upper level with private bathroom and the matress and pillows on the bed were súper comfortable.

CanadaVery very noisy the walls must be made from paper. The staff could be a little friendlier. But never had any issues, the shared shower was really not comfortable due to lack of cleanliness. There should be mirrors and garbages in the rooms. If these things were met I would have given a 10. Also a better explanation how to get to the hotel because the long way around GPS directs you to is treacherous. Very steep there's a much easier way from the first road.
The view is amazing, the rooms were very clean. Having the hammock is nice. Good size room. Very good for the price. Very close to everything in the downtown area.

SpainGreat view and location, a bit removed from the center. Beds were super comfy and nice to have access to a kitchen. I ended up extending here longer because it was so nice to enjoy the hammocks and view and to recharge after months of travel. Highly recommend!

United StatesI did not like that the water filters were not consistently refilled, so I didn't know if I would have clean water to drink. I of course would refill them, but they take time as it was an eco filter. Also the water was completely turned off on Sunday and I was not made aware - no toilet, shower, sink, etc.
I loved the view of my room and the personal table and hammock that I had! Having a kitchen was a necessity as well.

United StatesThe location on the hill is a natural amphitheater, so sound travels up from the village and can be very loud. The dogs barking and roosters crowing will disturb your sleep.
This is a new hotel, so the beds were comfortable. The shared bathrooms and shower were clean. The views are wonderful and the guests that I interacted with were all pleasant.

United KingdomShower curtain fell off after 1 second of shower use and it is a little noisy. Bring earplugs.
Closer than it seems on the map. Google maps takes you a weird direction. Turn left down the alleyway where the Blind Lemon is. Don’t go up the hill it will take you much steeper route. Overall it was a good property, close to all amenities, had a kitchen, hammock, and WiFi which is what we wanted. View was also stunning. You get what you pay for.

AustraliaSadly all those other reviews you're reading are 100% accurate. It's dreadfully noisy, even for Latin America. Bring earplugs and keep your stay short.
This is a cracker of a property. Brand new, spacious ensuite rooms with, wait for it, 2 bathmats! Comfy bed. Views. Easy walk into town. Good kitchen with brand new appliances. Great value. Stay here before they jack up the rates.

United StatesThe sheets could be replaced, the first set had rips in it and then I asked for new ones which also weren't in the best shape. Towel was fine though! The noise from adjacent rooms was pretty bad. I could hear the couple next door giggling and talking all night :( Bathroom was really small and made it a tight squeeze to shower. The showerhead in my room was blocked up with mineral deposits so could only get water from a few jets in one direction. Could easily be replaced!
This spot is really great for the price. It's in a lovely elevated location overlooking San Marcos and the rooms were spacious and clean. Each had a hammock on the common balcony for lounging. No problems checking in - there was a girl available to collect payment and hand over my keys.

Canada1- You need to climb some stairs in a uphill street to get there. 2- They lock the front door at night and they also lock the kitchen at night!!! Wich means you don't have access to your food or to DRINKING WATER! Be careful with that. I've been super thirsty one night... and every shop in town was closed. No water to take my medication before going to bed.
- Room was comfortable kinda cute and clean! - Big window and hammoc on the balcony. - Shared kitchen was good. - Keys to lock your door. - Shared bathroom was OK!

United KingdomNo one was there to meet us or give us a key when we arrived which apparently had happened to someone else (but not everyone - pretty random and disorganised). The running water stopped working so toilets didn’t flush for 12 hours. San Marcos is expensive so you don’t get good value for what you pay for.
Great view, nice hammocks, beds were comfy, nice to have a clean kitchenette to cook in. One of the more reasonably priced options in San Marcos.

United KingdomPerfect place for a stay in San Marcos. A short walk up the hill from the main street so you get quiet evenings and an amazing sunrise view from your room or hammock. Clean rooms, small kitchen for storing and cooking basics, friendly staff.

CanadaUgh... the noise. It's on a hill and the sounds carry. Early part of the evening you hear the tuktuks and car traffic from the main road below, and much of the night there are dogs barking and roosters crowing. Not the hotels fault (well I guess they could put in better windows but that I'm guessing that would be very expensive). Good ear plugs or ear buds are necessary unless you're a very heavy sleeper. A lamp on the bedside table would be nice too.
Very clean and good sized room and premises. Hammock outside of every room. Great views. PSmall kitchen but full size fridge to store food, large store, equiped ok. Staff working there are quiet but nice and they keep the kitchen and shared toilets and showers very clean.

United StatesAs others have said, there is an issue with booking a private bathroom and not getting it. Happened to us and some others (Feb 2024) They did offer us a discount and moved us as soon as a room with private bathroom was available. If you are booking a private bathroom, I suggest contacting the hotel before you arrive to confirm.
Loved the view, the hammocks, having access to the kitchen, and that they provided free drinking water. Everything was very clean and the family that runs it is kind. Great value. Would stay here again.

NetherlandsI struggled to find the location and to get my stuff there. The address in booking that leads to Google maps is incorrect. It's a totally different location (see a different drawing map in the pictures of the hotel). The location is not reachable by tuktuk so you always need to walk the last part up steep hill/stairs with all your bagage. Not adviced for people with suitcases or heavy backpacks. The bathroom is very tiny and somehow the shower water always went to the side into the sink (instead of directly down so it lands on your body) and there was no way to adjust the showerhead so it was difficult to take a good shower.
Everything seems very new and clean Bed was very comfortable Nice view from the balcony Community kitchen so option to make your own food or tea/coffee The room was nice and spacious including a small desk and chair. Friendly staff

Czech RepublicCOLD SHOWER (room no. 7). Luckily there is a shared shower outside which had hot water. We are actually glad we didn’t have to shower in our room as there were many cables and sockets just in the shower where the water goes. Might be dangerous.
