Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomA fridge would have been a bonus and I had to ask for a fan as there is no A/C which they quickly provided. Door lock a bit of an issue which I eventually got the hang of. Didn’t take breakfast as I checked out early so can’t give an opinion on that. A word of warning, Take into account the extra tourist tax which adds on £11 ($15) per night per person. Also Wi-Fi was a bit hit and miss
Very clean and quiet room (109 ground floor) with comfortable bed and clean linen. Same with bathroom. Staff friendly and a rustic local feel. Lovely garden and terrace to relax on. Complimentary juices and teas. It has an old world charm. Brilliant view from roof. Five minutes walk from Arch de Catarina and the main church and the park.

NetherlandsBreakfast, noisy room. Asked for a quiet room and got a room towards the back of the hotel - which is next to a nightclub/bar next door and has a connecting door to an adjacent room - where you can pretty much hear every word your neighbours says (and everything they do at night). Don't take rooms 205/204 unless you are a group and want connecting rooms.
Location, ambiance, rooftop. Friendly personnel, very helpful

El SalvadorThere is not parking and finding a parking spot was very hard. We have to leave the car like 2 kilometers away, and it took us almost 2 hours to find a parking lot. Also the rooms are extremely closed and it there was a moment that it was a little bit hard to sleep because there were some people talking in front of our window and they were talking loud and laughing hard and you could hear everything.
The location was great, everything was very close.

New ZealandThe bar next door was very loud one of the nights of our stay and kept us up. The WIFI only works in areas outside of the rooms as the walls are solid concrete and the signal doesn't pass through.
The location was great and the rooms + courtyard were very pretty. The breakfast was also very good. The staff were friendly.

United StatesWe stayed at another hotel in Antigua that was nicer and less expensive, so we felt like the value for this one was disappointing. Wifi didn't work well, the toilet was running, the shower wasn't very nice. Overall, we thought this would be a splurge on a very nice hotel for one night and were bummed that it wasn't anything special.
The breakfast was good, there are many common spaces within the hotel to relax and a nice rooftop. They let us leave our bags at the front desk which we greatly appreciated.

United StatesThe breakfast is 2 eggs, plantains, and beans. I don't eat that much starch and just asked for extra eggs instead of the fruit and everything else and was told it would be a additional charge. Not what I would have expected when they say breakfast is included. As soon as I got there, my bedroom light burned out, the sink wouldn't shut off (the handle was broken) and the toilet kept running all night and no hot water. The bedding on top was clearly dirty and needed to be washed which made me wonder if there were that many stains, when was the last time it was actually washed.
The location is central to everything

United StatesEverything else - I left early because I didn’t sleep all night. The walls are paper thin, bedding wasn’t clean, shower didn’t drain, WiFi didn’t work, and I unfortunately wasn’t given a refund for the second night I didn’t stay, even though I checked out in the middle of the day.
The staff onsite were helpful and friendly

ItalyI felt this hotel was very bad. On the morning of the day of check-out, the door to the hostel was open while we were out for a while. We were startled and hurriedly checked our passports and money. Currently I couldn't find anything missing, but I didn't have the towels we used. I understood that the cleaners mistook us for checking out already. But after check out they wanted to check my bag saying the towel was missing. Of course I didn't bring a towel. I checked the bag for them, but I felt very, very bad. They broke into guest rooms and considered them thieves.

United StatesIs a bit old hotel, a bit noisy, you could hear the room next door, the talking, the snoring. The mattress had a dent, couldn’t get a great rest, I returned a couple of days later and asked them for a different room, the mattress was better in that one.
Great location, beautiful patio, it is a charming place, has friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is good.

Costa RicaWe had a deluxe room with a connecting door to the other room and could hear everything. Aldo it is next to a brewery and it was noisy. I specifically called days before the trip to ask for a quiet room since I work full time and was on vacation.
It has a good location. It was clean.

United StatesBreakfast, location, staff & in-room safe great! Rooftop terrace is beautiful during the day but blaring music from neighbor bar at night there. Plumbing issues, no AC or heat so can be uncomfortable. Sink is so tiny making washing anything messy. Hope they'll get rid of decorative pillows & put a comforter in washable cover to provide better sanitation. Hard to find bell to get in at night.

United StatesThere were a few things that happened that left a sour taste. First, when we arrived we were informed that one of our rooms had already been charged to the credit card given at booking even though it clearly said on our reservation that no prepayment would be required and we would pay completely at the hotel. The front desk clerk informed me that it was 'hotel policy' and couldn't explain why it was indicated otherwise on booking.com. The amount charged was not the amount quoted on booking.com and it was extremely inconvenient to rectify. Second, prior to arriving, I had written and received confirmation that limited parking was available and included in the price. However, upon arrival, we were informed parking is an additional cost and 3 blocks from the hotel. We had to pay an hourly rate plus overnight parking. Third, even though I requested and received confirmation of a quiet room at the back, we were placed in a room at the front, within close proximity to the brewery next door.
The hotel was designed well with lots of beautiful garden spaces to explore. The furnishings were nice and the overall esthetic very pleasing. Breakfast was 'tipico' food served buffet style. The hotel offered an assortment of beverages and small snacks throughout the day which was a nice touch.

CanadaThin walls, not that it was loud but I could hear the couple in the next room getting busy which I didn't care to hear, as well as the fountain non-stop during the daytime. I was in the farthest room and when I went out late at night (after 11) to smoke it was very dark in the hallway. I needed to use the flashlight on my cellphone just to navigate. My room didn't have windows to the outside so I had no natural light. I have found better places to stay for the price but it was ok. I am sure they have better rooms than what I got.
The rooftop terrace was awesome, though it could use some shade. Great location and a nice room

GuatemalaThe downside of the traditional building layout is that some of the rooms are really (and I mean really) dark. When booking, I recommend you ask for a room on the upper floor. The bathroom was tastefully decorated but was so narrow that when you sat on the loo your knees touched the wall opposite. Internet reception was unreliable in the room itself, although was generally available in the common areas. Surprised to find no hot water left for a shower at 9pm.
This is a very characterful hotel, retaining many historic features. Rooms are set around two internal, planted courtyards and it feels very calm and comfortable...a real escape from the busy streets outside. There's a roof terrace offering wonderful views. The staff were very pleasant.

Cute, well appointed hotel. Wonderful, comfortable, outdoor seating areas....including a killer rooftop. Staff is friendly and attentive.
