Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIt wasn’t particularly clean. Once we checked in we were told we’re in a completely different location on the other end of town. The included breakfast was brought to us in tupperwares by a tuk tuk driver and the portion sizes were way too small to be shared between 4 guests so we ended up going out for breakfast every day.
The room was quite spacious and we had a private bathroom. The hostel offered free kayaking tuk tuks and other activities which was nice

Great staff, location and value for money. It's a little rustic and basic. Free kayak sunrise tour and a good kitchen make up for it. Nice and social.

FranceReally nice hostel, I love the concept : you sleep in large and comfortable tents, you feel the fresh air on the night, nicer than a dormitory for me. The staff is really friendly and the location good, not far from the center but in a quiet neighbourhood next to the lake. Free breakfast, you have also a nice kitchen and a little workout area !

United KingdomThe whole place is a bit run down and generally a bit grubby... the "beach front hammocks" are so threadbare they're not functional unfortunately. The onsite bar wasn't very well stocked and the communal areas are a bit tired.
We (a couple) booked The Studio - it's basic, but the best value for money of our whole trip. Own bathroom, kitchenette, inc cooker/fridge freezer and drinking water. Great views over the lake. Location also really good - on the lake, and a 5 minute walk to the main strip. Laundry on site is good and they offer loads of activities and shuttles for the same price as other local businesses.

New ZealandThe accom is very rustic which isn't really an issue given the price, but there is lots of close contact with the local insect population.
Very cheap, decent location a short walk from the main part of town, nice lake view.

CanadaAs mentioned above it can sometimes be noisy on weekend evenings (but local sound laws oblige silence after 11pm) and toilets and showers are occasionally unpredictable however staff are attentive and are working literally right now to put in more solid infrastructure. For the price it really is an excellent deal and will undoubtedly charm you!
Absolutely loved our stay here and were super sad to have to leave. We would have extended our stay in a heartbeat. Right by the water and close to town (5-10 min walk from the main dock). Also there is an avocado tree providing many free avocadoes! There is also a very talented chef on staff who can make nicely priced (35Q) and generously portioned food. This place is a hidden gem with truly unbelievably low prices, and the team is working on making improvements every day. Given the super affordable pricing you do have to deal with witnessing the improvements as they happen -- toilets and showers can sometimes be uncooperative but staff is super friendly and willing to help. Neighbouring establishments can also be quite noisy on weekends but the hostel working on an eco-friendly sound insulation project to help reduce the noise impactfrom the neighbours!! Jacob in particular was always attentive, insightful, and knowledgeable any time we asked questions. Very friendly and approachable, and just a generally fun and interesting human to talk to. Can't wait to see what happens with Gran Colibrí in the future! P.S. Mishka the cat is very cute but addicted to carbs and will snack on your bagels or pizza if you leave them out. ;)

AustraliaThe walk back late at night did not feel very safe, and we would’ve preferred to stay slightly closer to the busy part of town.
Super cheap option in San Pedro that’s about a 7 minute walk from the town center. As advertised, it’s very basic and rustic.

CanadaWhile far enough away from the center of town and all the noises, next door has a space that played music loud until about 11 or so, it made it challenging to rest peacefully. I woke up with quite a bit of bites on my body, not sure if it was the sheets or the mattress, it wasn't mosquitoes bites as I used the bug net...
Very thorough & informative. Roberto & Juanita? (cant recall how to pronounce Her name!) were very sweet. The music stops by 9pm which is nice. The property is well tended and being improved upon. The swinging bench is very lovely to enjoy early morning sunshine upon and very relaxing. The orange tabby cat is beyond sweetness!!! For the small space, they havedone a good job maximizing its potentials! It's nice that they have a 24 hr open door to return through.

NetherlandsHygiene can be improved (mostly the kitchen, but also lazy ness of other guests?), and the place has a lot of potential that is not used yet, or small improvements on kitchen/bathrooms. We could not close our tent, so we put our stuff in friends their tents who could close them..., Maybe lockers or fix this problem?
Location is beautiful and well situated close to town. best you can get for this price at the whole lake! We really liked our stay here!

CanadaI stayed in a budget single room instead of one of the tents — I probably would choose a tent instead in retrospect as they were cleaner. My room was quite dirty and the bedding was soiled. There was some water leakage in the floor at one point (likely from the heavy rains) and it got my luggage and clothing quite wet. The price of the room was very low (120Q for 2 nights) so I do understand that you get what you pay for.
Great waterfront location, the front yard with the swings overlooking the lake was very nice to hang out in. The staff were very kind.

GermanyLet’s say it’s a place with a lot of potential. Kitchen was gross, dirty dishes. We decided to eat out instead of cooking. The tents were okay but the bedding had stains and holes. No personal lockers, only one big locker for everyone. Rooftop terrace looked kinda messy and no one chilled up there.
Nice location, directly at the lake. Good chill out areas, rooftop terrace. Bathrooms were outside and okay.
