Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe booked a private room with our own bathroom but the shower didn't work well. We told them, they tried to fix it but they said the whole shower would need replacing which they would do that day. They didn't do it at all so we still didn't have a private shower. The bed was way too small for two people. Bigger than a single but not much so we couldn't really get any sleep. We'd booked and paid for five nights and ended up leaving to another hotel after three nights as it really wasn't comfortable.
Not a bad location but you do get a lot of noise from bars and dogs which you don't get at the other end of town. Staff were mostly lovely. We had our own kitchenette which was nice.

United StatesTents could use a little more ventilation but that's seems to be the current goal for the property.
The owner/operators and staff were incredibly kind. Facilities were clean and convenient set in an amazing location. The communal nature and goals for the property are heart warming.

JapanExtremely dirty place. Dirtiest kitchen I've ever seen at a hostel.. Rotton food inside the fridge for a couple weeks at least. Shower also very very dirty. There was no hot water. Tent was ok but mosquitoes would easily come in. Overall, I don't know if any of the facilities are taken care of. I don't understand why it has such good reviews.
There was a cute cat.

Germanyeven though it’s pretty cheap and the location is great, I don’t expect luxury - that’s for sure. but everything was so disgusting, the rooms filthy and simply not clean - I don’t know when the last time was that the bath was cleaned. I guess never. and even though it was a room and not a tent, it was like being outside because the walls are not next to the roof, there are a few centimeters and so every animal and insect can come it. a cat scared me to death in the middle of the night while climbing into the room and jumping on the bed. the bed itself was disgustig as well. if I didn’t had a mosquito net and a travel sleeping bag, I wouldn’t have slept there.
the location is so great, it’s in front of the lake and within minutes you’re in the city center. that’s about the only positive aspect

I really loved the hostel. Its a really calm but beautiful hostel with lots of different things to do directly at the lake. you even get free breakfast and a free hour a day with the bike and the kayak :) the tents to sleep are so comfortable and there is light and electricity inside. the outdoor kitchen is big and has everything you need. also its nice to live there because you can escape the loud party street a bit… and if you wanna party, its just 10minutes walk :)

Germanyunfortunately the place was very dirty! the blankets on our bed were full of hair and it had a big white spot on it. very disgusting. luckily we had our own blanket. we covered the bed with our own towels so it was possible to lay on it. we just had two nights booked, we wouldn’t stay any longer. the kitchen is not well equipped and there’s a cat that always sits next to your food and drinks directly from the sink.
very nice location right next to the lake. beautiful common areas, pool table, ping pong, a bar to drink a beer with other travelers. the main house is nice and offers a lot of space to sit and relax. there’s a kitchen. the lady is very friendly and kind.

FinlandSo badly managed. Mold and dirt everywhere. Their grey water goes to ground or to lake. Hundreds of white larvae in organic bin.. if you change the drinkingwater jug, just look inside the machine: it is so moldy. And remember, you drink that same water. They have like 4 cups and 4 bowls for everyone to share. Kitchen is not well equipped. The pans leaves black dots to your food. The room was SO dirty and mosquito net so small that it could not go around the bed, and I got bitten every night by spiders/mosquitos. The rooms gets so hot suring the day. And funniest thing is the door. Is is see-thru, so if you have lights on inside, everyone sees inside (there are no curtains for the door). And since the room is for two, if one is leaving early morning and other one is staying a sleep there are few ways to close the door: 1. Leaving person can lock the door from outside (person inside will be trapped) or leave the door fully open (no other option), or 2. They have to wake up the sleeping person to close the door from inside, but then leaving person cannot get inside anymore. Who ever owns it, is cheap an not willing to put any money to repair basic things. And it shows. We stayed 3 nights and every night (and day) you could hear loud music. So do not expect sleeping too well. And also there were towels included but out of 3 days we got to have them only for 12hours because "they were on laundry".
The house (common area) was nice. Nice others guests like in sny other hostel. Beautiful view to lake.

CanadaEverything! Great team to welcome you and discuss at night, straight to a little beach and access to the lake, the free bonus like kayak, the fresh and cheap beers, the tent and tips system, the kitchen etc. Just away from down town which give you the choice for the evening activities. 5 minutes walk to the core of night life.

CanadaThe only downsides is that the tents did not have power (which I didn’t expect them to) so we had to go into the main lodge to charge electronics which was only open from 9am-9pm. They also have no lockers or anywhere to store your belongings, I just ended up putting one of my locks through the zipper on my tent. Also the wifi did not reach to the communal kitchen and beyond, so I did not have wifi in my tent, only if I was at the building down by the water. Otherwise it was a wonderful hostel and i would totally come back!!
I LOVED THIS HOSTEL SO MUCH!! I ended up extending my stay and cancelling my other hostel because I loved this one so much. Everyone sleeps in either tents or tipis, but they also have single private rooms too i believe. I booked a tent and it was a very affordable price and amazing because it was like having my own private room. I had so much privacy. The location is right on the lake which provides beautiful views. They have plenty of seating / lounging areas around the property, lots of hammocks, benches, tables & chairs. In the main building they have a bar, pool table, ping pong table, and TV. Hot water in the showers. Breakfast in the morning consisted of fresh fruit, bread, cofeee and a hard boiled egg. They had a kitchen communal kitchen with plenty of fridge space and cookware. Free purified water for guests. An outdoor fire pit area which was great in the evenings.

The tents are also pretty nice and the hole central building is made with love and great local spirit. Highly recommend this place for a nice stay in San Pedro. Muchas gracias, Roberto!

GermanyI went there on a friend's recommendation and sadly to say, I am not very happy about my decision. The stay was overall not very comfortable, the breakfast was plain and was removed on my 2nd day even before the closing time. I find this unpleasant. More relaxed staff would make the place better.
The location and the vibe of the place was great. It was clean, I loved the fireplace. There was hot water, which made it pleasant. The fact that it was right on the water was the top.

FranceWell it's a cheap place so I didn't expect such good breakfast and well don't go for the breakfast:) It's a boiled egg, fruit salad, bread and coffee. Also kitchen cleanliness weren't so good to me, the sponge to clean weren't clean enough to my taste and so the equipment. A lady ( paid one!) Were cleaning around but I guess the guests have to be more mature and clean after themselves to -_-. Guys please dont let any food trace after you cook ! Also I'm small so was pretty ok but a taller person cant stand in the tipi. Bed was clean but the floor not so much ( concret floor) and no place to unpack anything but a dirty plastic thing. Didn't bother me because I appreciated the privacy for cheap. Oh, hot water not so hot but so it is in most places I've been in Guate, take your shower in daylight :)
Love the vibe, and it's by the lake Also loved the privacy offered with Tipi Very good location and really nice common space after a long day of visit. Love the friendly staff although I find it weard the owner hire only volunteers. Doesn't seem so fair for the labour to me.

Amazing staff - special thanks to Jacob for being so awesome and sharing with us more information about the local culture. Having kitchen - a big bonus. Tents were super cute. NetherlandsI have to be honest, because I wish I would have known this beforehand. We left a day early because of the noise at night. We stayed in the cabin with a double bed. From 22.00 tot 3.00 AM dogs were barking right next to the camping. For us that meant no sleep. Maybe you have the gift of sleeping through that. And yes we used earplugs. Also the cabin made a lot of noise because the rooftop clashes due to the wind. There were also fireworks at 1.00AM next to the place on a Sunday night. Just to be clear: The other guests were not noisy at all. So that was all fine. The place is def a cool vibe. But for us the dogs and all other noises ruined it.
Friendly owner Friendly guests Directly located at the lake Good vibes Close to mainstreet Free canoe Free bikes Hot showers sometimes Lovely cat
