Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room is very small and so is the bathroom. It's no frills but perfectly decent.
Room was basic but very clean. Huge window with view of the harbour which was worth the extra money in my view. Decent location. 20 minute walk into central and 5 minutes from harbour front. Bed was very firm but after I requested a mattress topper it was perfectly comfortable.

The room and the toilet are updated and the bed is not very comfortable. It was the first time someone charged us the breakfast of our 6 year old child since ours were included.
Very good location and the staff is very nice and helpful. Nice breakfast.

The rooms are small. Yes, normal in Hongkong, still something that bother us. For the price it's OK, though. What we did not like was the condition of the bathroom. In our room, the sealing of the shower was obviously broken, since the wall from shower to bedroom got wet. There was a clear watermark on the wall. Also, the bathroom was quite smelly from time to time. Yes, Ibis is not a 5 star hotel, still they should work on the room condition. We also did not like that the bathroom light switch was close to the main door instead of inside of the bathroom.
The location of Ibis Sheung Wang is awesome! A lot of POIs are in walking distance (peak tram is 15-20 minutes walking), ferry terminal, Ifc mall, Farrywheel, all in walking distance. Also, the famous DingDing Tram has a station in front of the hotel. The staff is very helpful and nice. They keep the rooms clean for what is possible. We didn't order the breakfast, so cannot say anything regarding this.

It is a great location and the staff are delightful -- I have stayed at some very plush places before, but nowhere does better on greetings in the corridor, smiles and quick response to questions.

Good value for money. Good sized room and overall a good standard of cleanliness, although probably could take more care when dusting. Nice location. Easy access to public transport and lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance. Staff were very accommodating. Bed was quite hard but we were able to request a mattress topper which was a lot more comfortable.

There is only shower, no bathtub. The refrigerator in my room did not work.
Breakfast was buffet and very nice. Wi-fi was very good. Always very easy to take a taxi in front of the hotel.

Hard bed. They offer to put a mattress topper if you think the bed is too hard and we requested this after day 1 and never got it, even staying 5 nights. Water filter/boiler broken and never fixed, so no drinking water in the room.
Good sized room, great location, easy check in/out.

Got woken up early one morning by housekeeping lady who was cleaning the room next to mine quite loudly and shouting on her phone on speaker, not pleasant when you just had a long haul and need to rest. I disliked that the hotel replaced kettles in rooms for a water dispenser which had a filter giving a strong chemical taste to the water, I wish we had the option to get a standard kettle from reception. The hotel should put a handrail at the street level main entrance, it's a high step and nothing to hold on.
Good size room, big desk, enough hangers, good shower, drinking water available in lobby 24h, good location next to tram, easy for taxi as they all know this hotel, I stay at this hotel every year.

I will prefer if the windows can open a few cm for ventilation
The location is excellent! Although it is not right outside the mtr exit but it has lotsa to make up for the golden location because it’s at the edge of the very crowded city center . Absolutely love the breakfast.
