Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

South AfricaNothing, I had a horrible experience and I was miserable. For health I had to book another hotel and move out.
Nothing , the place is very disappointing, nothing has been updated, lights fixtures to old, wall paper on the wall dirty, toilet flushing handle broken, the mattress is very hard and outdated, pillows on 2 in the room and were very hard, Even the store doesn’t sell mattresses like that anymore. Room very small, it’s ok for a single traveler. Not good for couples. It has one night stand. The room was very dark and creepy. I was supposed to stay 4 nights end up booking another hotel and move out after the first night, what a waste of money and time. The area also not good for tourists because there’s nothing to do in that area, no eating places, no restaurants. It looks like a residential area. To go the from the airport, you go under the tunnel and if you using Uber or a Taxi you will be charged additional HK25 dollar for the tunnel fees. So I would not advise anyone to stay on Hong Kong Island because there’s nothing there. This was the worst Hotel experience I have ever had in a hotel. And the worst area. We finally booked the Panda Hotel and we are having a wonderful experience. It is not a five star but at least it’s a normal hotel.

RussiaThe room is tiny, no place to put personal belongings. The only place for suitcase is under bed. The refregirator is so small you cannot fit more than 2 apples inside. The wash basin is tiny, just enough to carefully wash hands. The air conditioner is rather noisy. The pre-paid breakfast is so bad, we never came back to dining room for breakfasts in our 3 nights stay. Generally I would rate this hotel as 2 star.
The staff is rather friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned daily, towels changed. The hotel is located just 2-3 minutes away from the MTR station which is very convenient.

It was all perfect, including the staff's willingness to let me stay in the room well after check-out time.

United KingdomThis is a terrible property with terrible staff and terrible rooms. My worst experience so far. I have raised a complaint but I am not receiving any response. The small size of the room would not have mattered if the room was functional. But it wasn't. The room advertised was different to what was allocated. Dirty and old furniture and carpet. Poor dim lighting. Broken curtains, safe, tv, and fridge. Worst thing was having an inefficient broken leaking bathroom which we couldn't use properly and you literally cannot sit on the toilet seat like a normal human being. When we raised these issues upon arrival, we were rudely told to complain to Booking.com. Now Booking.com refuses to intervene and the property are not responding.
Convenient location if you don't mind staying few stops away from Central.

VietnamLack of AC was my main issue I did not sleep well
This is arguably the worst hotel i’ve stayed in which I will list the reasons below and include pictures and videos if I can. Saying this it’s very cheap and the location is perfect on the main land of Hong Kong. The reason for the quite dramatic start to this review is as follow. The decor is very dated making you feel like you are in a grannies vintage purse and possible scenes taken from the film the “shining”. I can look past the decor as it has its charms. The AC is my room made lots of noise and barely made the room cold enough to sleep comfortably. The shower curtain sticks to your body when you shower. The plumping from my rooms needs a complete overhaul as it sounds like drilling when you turn the water on (this was actually more entertaining than anything as you don’t need to leave the tap on for long). The lifts need a complete service and maintenance from the very slow doors, the swinging chandeliers and AC that drips on you during the ride. Expect to stop on every floor with many people getting in and build this time into your day if you are on a high floor. The rooms are cleaned well each day daily with fresh white towels. Would i stay here again 100% not. Was it value for money? Yes and it was an experience and a perfect location to explore main land Hong Kong. This is perfect for people travelling on a budget and don’t mind being warm when they sleep.
